"Lovely meal with a delightful server. Only concern was the positioning of the lights over the pictures which at least gave us something to ponder at the start of the evening. Some of the best steaks we 've had in the UK."

"The atmosphere was perfect, a really comfortable environment to be in with friends and the food was magnificent. The presentation combined with the flavours really hit the sweet spot. It is high end restaurant quality and I’m looking forward to my next visit."

"Disappointing. The menu and the ethos of 17 is great, but they don’t deliver. The waitress had no idea of the main components of the dishes, and just poured the wine for all without giving a taster and asking if it was OK. Much of the ingredients were not fresh and presentation was non existent (each plate came with a sprig of water cress). A pity, because if they trained their staff and the chef put some effort in, it would be good. For the money charged, go to Course and really get your money’s worth and a really good dinner."

"Service very slow and staff a tad pretentious. Not once did any member of staff give our table any service at all. When we asked for our bill we had to seek out a member of staff to come to take the payment as it sat there for ten minutes!! Usually when you ask for the bill it means you're ready to leave. This didn't reflect on the beautiful food served."

"The warm reception we got when we arrived at lunch was nice. we were shown on our table and then our waitress came and imagined that her name was ruth. such a lively and happy young lady. we asked for the lunch special menu, but then to say was not available until next week, which was a scandal, as was what we were there for!ruth our adorable waiter gave recommendation and she was not wrong, was ordered main menu. I had smoky and it was the best I had tasty. bob had dived duck and that was also exceptional our main was lamm brain pie and honey glazed bauch dick all washed with a beautiful bottle red then we went into the bar area a finished with a gin cocktail our today visit in this beautiful building all perfect the environment the whole detail the personal everything was fantastic thanks for a perfect day can not wait to visit again"
