"We sat in the back bar and John was our bartenderserver. He gave us outstanding drink and food recommendations. All of his suggestions were spot in. Fantastic meal and atmosphere. Great food ....the lamb stew was amazing"

"I made a reservation thinking this was a dinner spot. But it's actually only for drinks. The view was nice and the sectioned off patio for furniture was cool. Unfortunately my date say in a wet seat, made for an awkward time for her. The dinks are but on par with the price for DC, I'd say they could do better on their glassware, drinking a 20 margarita out of a plain plastic cup was somewhat underwhelming. Good views, go for a cigar and drink. Good after work place."

"These good ratings must be old or paid reviewers. I get there on Thursday night in a small party of 4 to eat before a concert. Waited nearly 2 hours. For appetizers. That's right. The simple to prepare stuff that comes out usually in under 15 minutes apparently took the time of a full length action movie. And who knows how much longer we would have had to wait for the entrees we ordered. At this point, I just wanted to leave so we didn't miss our concert. The manager finally comes out with some story about how the main chef had his hours cut, blah, blah. It would have been better that the manager would have at least updated us sometime between 30 minutes and the 1.5 hours after we ordered, that their kitchen was jacked up and that our food was running behind. If one disgruntled or absent cook is enough to bring your kitchen to a halt, then maybe your management is useless. This is my first and last time to this poorly managed circus pretending to be a upscale steakhouse. I've had better service at chain steakhouses with barely drinking aged shift managers, which is sad considering I would rather try independent local places than eat at some big chain."

"Enjoyed a mid-week happy hour at Matchbox. The bartender Charlie was very welcoming and did a great job of checking in throughout my visit to make sure everything was good. I originally had planned to sit outside on the patio when I arrived because it was a beautiful day, but when I walked in I decided to grab a seat at the bar because the interior of the building was gorgeous. There are two floor, and the layout and design are stunning. The food and drinks were just as impressive as the ambiance. To drink I enjoyed the Fire Pit Pounder which was a good balance of tart and sweetness. For food I had the Happy Hour Margherita Pizza, which was made with super fresh ingredients, including crushed tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and swirls of Olive Oil. I will definitely be making my way back here for a full dinner experience."
