"In addition to Stars Vendome, Bensberg and Post, Odenthal is perhaps the best restaurant in the city of Bergisch Gladbach. Eßer has built a really great kitchen in the Schwäke in five years. The young man then praised the place and made a jewel of it. At first there was even a table. But there were too few guests. Corona also set him a leg – but he delivered food in the city. There was also a wine trade. On Sunday there is also a lunch for lunch – so we have reserved a table: The map looked too delicious! In summer there is a large beer garden outside. But today it was cool and rainy. We were forced through the small entrance door. Then you're in a hallway. From there it goes into several small rooms. We sat in a small room overlooking the kitchen and beer garden. Cleanliness Everything is well maintained. Sanitary Dahin, unfortunately you have to climb a few steps. Service Today was a young talent. She had great problems with the handles; but she was friendly – only unhappy. The boss and the chefs brought dishes to the table themselves. They also questioned our well-being. These small conversations were a good addition to the rest of the service. The map(s) There is a sip menu and individual dishes as well as a wine map. We chose the Schlemmermen Menu (78.90 €). Food Way: Truffle celery carrot soup and rosemary Focaccia bread with a creamy spread The soup was a pleasant entrance, it was well seasoned and not too thick, only for us. Even baked bread I also appreciate – and we always have supplements. Gang 1: Fasanenbrust from the Eifel meets small calfstatar from Lohmar vegetables in the dough coat inserted chicorée Rettich Wild broccoli in Nusspanade Soja The variety of ingredients can confuse; but the competition was absolutely unanimous. Every single ingredient for itself was a pleasure. Besides the pheasant part and the calf statue, the vegetables in the dough shell and the broccoli in the nut shell (there were no hazelnuts and almonds and so I could taste the original very well. Gang 2: Flared Skrei on Potato Carpaccio Vacherin Mont d’Or Strawberry Crunch Estragon Kohlrabi Ragout Lauch The fish was pleasantly soft and tender. The potato base was completely new and surprising for me. The kitchen can easily handle vegetables and herbs well; also for Laek and Kohlrabi were successful. The cheese sauce was also delicious. I also found small champignon pieces. Gang 3: duet of congratulations Sashimi Habana Chili Orange Marmelade Petersilie two types of nicknames Yuzu Flower Sprouts The second sea corridor also convinced me. The fruit was incorporated. The small pepper cubes consisted of different layers. And in return there was a vegetables that I did not yet know and tasted wonderfully: vegetables are a vegetables, a cross of rose cabbage and green cabbage; they are also commercially available under the name Kohlröschen, Wilder Rosenkohl or Flower Sprout and are sometimes referred to as pettikohl on their petticoat. As an acidic friend I also liked these creations – they tasted pure and also with bread. Gang 4: Pink fried lberico back steak – Black forests ham Hollandaise apple relish roasted Nickka pumpkin variation Miso baked Polnta The main course, next to the delicious pork, also had excellent companions: the Polnta was not too soft, the carrots crack, the fine apple salad, the pumpkin pieces and again a pleasant sauce! Gang 5: Small Mousse Brownie Chocolate Cream – Coffee or Zabaglione Strawberry Compote Vanilla Mascarponeeis The large round brownie was already in the center; he was quite soft, almost like a cake with liquid core. Maybe not a typical brownie, but very tasty because the chocolate was wonderfully creamy and delicate. The other ingredients fit well. My wife doesn't like chocolate so much and has a Zabaglione with ice cream. We were totally convinced of the kitchen performance and will certainly not wait too long with the next visit.
