"Went there for an early dinner with 4 kids. We were a little sceptical with the kids when we walked in and saw the place but it turned out to work really well for us. Food was really good and good drink choices. The buffalo chicken salad was huge with good toppings. The chicken bacon ranch was good also. As the restaurant filled up it got pretty loud which is expected for a bar."

"This is the first restaurant I've been to that allowed dogs. You have to opt for the outdoor seating, but that worked just fine. We ordered hush puppies and scallops for appetizers. Hush puppies were nice and crisp on the outside and warm and steamy on the inside. The scallops were done perfectly and ordered blackened. Next up was 6 of the fresh oysters from the ever changing menu. They were delicious and very tasty with the numerous hot sauces to choose from. Then, the Oyster Sampler which entailed a mix of 16 oysters raw, steamed and char grilled. All good but I found I personally least liked the char grilled. Then, lastly, the Lobster dinner, only served on Fridays. It came with coleslaw and corn on the cob. Tricia, our waitress, was fantastic! She timed the food just right. She also brought pail of water out for our dogs. Great experience and would highly recommend this Surf City restaurant!"

"My recent visit to this restaurant was nothing short of disappointing. Despite waiting for over two hours, we were seated after locals who arrived later. The hostess's service was terrible, showing a lack of consideration and fairness. To add to the frustration, the broccoli, which was supposed to be steamed, came out completely raw. This was a clear oversight on the part of the kitchen staff. In an attempt to address our grievances, we approached the manager. However, he displayed a complete lack of professionalism and customer service. He not only ignored our concerns but walked away while we were in the middle of explaining our experience. Such a combination of poor service, inattentiveness, and a dismissive attitude is deeply disappointing and does not reflect well on this establishment. I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for them to reevaluate their customer service and food quality."

"The food wasn't bad! We went to Sushi and I would say it was pretty good. But we don't always eat sushi. I will say that because I had difficulty finding it online, they have everything you can eat sushi for $19.95 at noon. You didn't advertise when we got in. They gave us regular menus, and when she came back to see if we were ready, I asked for Specials. That's when she told me they had everything you could eat. It is a separate menu. "Was a good pizza to be from NY and also at a tourist site. Lol, usually the pizza is not good, but here was a pleasant surprise! Any criticism would be only the size, since the big one here is more a medium (diameter). No complaint, just a criticism. The crust was good, nice n thin, more akin to a breadstick type than a pizza dough, but it works! Sauce and toppings were good. I enjoyed Max's pizza and would recommend and return when I revisit Surf City!"
