"Thanks to the positive reviews I decided to dine here on a Saturday evening. Mettlenhof is conveniently located a mere 10-minute-walk from Eschlikon train station.The dinner began badly:Upon arrival I expected to receive a warm greeting, as often in Switzerland. On the contrary I was welcomed with a short and abrupt "Have you booked a table? Otherwise there is no table left" (I had - fortunately). I appreciate the restaurant was fairly busy, but that is no excuse for being rude.Luckily the rest of the dinner ran quite smoothly.The lady in charge of my table was most charming: smiling and efficient service.The food is Swiss traditional - no fuss and tasty. The veal Cordon Bleu and the dessert variation (panna cotta, creme caramel, chocolate mousse) were delicious, with generous portions.The dining room is functional and spotlessly clean.The bill remains surprisingly moderate: CHF70 for the whole dinner with wine and coffee. Were it not for the greeting faux-pas I would have rated Mettlenhof with five stars."

"Had a business lunch here, wanted to have it with a nice view to the Alps. This was the perfect place, and were lucky with the weather that allowed us to have a table at the terrace. The food was excellent. I had a surf and turf, what was also a good selection. Effective and friendly service, should come back one day..."
