"On the day of my birth my partner brought me to a bakery to choose my own cake. He did his research and even found one I have never been too. Located in the Dungrave area, in West Vancouver, an area I don’t visit often. The cafe’s name was catchy, though I immediately thought it referred to anger, as apposed to the treatment of chocolate."

"After a busy morning of shopping at Park Royal, my friend and I needed a relaxing, delicious lunch and Ancora did not disappoint!! We were seated promptly by the window and enjoyed the exceptional customer service from Eric who provided excellent suggestions for our shared meal of fresh oysters,sushi pizza,mussels, French fries, Brussel sprouts and a delightful glass of house white wine. The fusion of Japanese/Peruvian spices was exquisite! We will be returning with friends for dinner. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience."

"We arrived for brunch and were seated on the patio which usually has a wonderful view but, alas, the forest fire smoke obliterated that to the point that fog-horns were being used! On the upside, the haze brought down the temperature. Although a local, this was the first time I've eaten here - the prices looked over the top for dinner so I thought brunch would be do-able. The service was somewhat unprofessional - drinks being plunked down with spillage in the general area of the recipient with lots of reaching past other patrons. When my crab benny arrived I had to lift the eggs to search for the crab and bacon - it was almost non-existent. Very disappointing. The accompanying salad was delicious with nuts and feta. Some people in my group, including myself, found the food to be nearly cold, so I was quick to eat my eggs before the salad! It really wasn't worth the $25 charged for a benny, coffee and service charge. Obviously people come for the location - too bad the food and service aren't up to par."

"Say what you will about Tojo's and the Nobu restaurant chain, this place is simply the best around. I travel a lot. I have had the great fortune to visit Japan over 25 times. My review recomndation is, that you visit Zen and try this. don't order. Just let the sushi chef take care of you. Nobu (chef, not the restaurant) is a genius. Say no more."

"We’ve been a huge supporter of Swad since it opened, spending consistently with them throughout those years. When ordering $200 of food on DoorDash each Friday through Covid it is galling to have a call from them demanding another $10 for adding paneer to a...veggie dish. Poor management and weak customer loyalty. I’ve been a restaurant owner for over 30 years. It would never occur to me to piss off such a regular customer."

"After some shopping in west van we decided to see if we could find a place to eat in the area. After some deliberation we decided to check out Carmelo's due to the high reviews and some craving for an Italian night out. We quickly realized we made a great decision on our meal. We ordered a couple of Appetizers (Carmelo's Garlic Cheese Pizza Bread and the Sauteed Prawns) alongside 2 of their pastas (Penne Salsiccia, Linguini Alla Vongole) for our entrees. The apps were great and the Penne Salsiccia was perfect. However, we found the Vongole to be slightly bland tasting. The vibes of the place were perfect for a chilly Monday night, and we loved the quick and helpful service. Definitely give this place a visit!"

"I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with their pet policy. Despite having dined with our dog at other establishments in the area, the staff informed us that dogs were not allowed outside due to government rules. We kindly explained our previous experiences, but the response we received was rude and dismissive. We even asked if we could keep our dog inside a box while dining outside, but the request was met with refusal and a negative attitude from the staff.This was a stark departure from our experiences at other restaurants in Vancouver, where we were warmly welcomed with our furry companion. It was disheartening to encounter such an unfriendly attitude and lack of accommodation for pet owners.However, we were pleased to find that the restaurant next door Earls in west vancouver welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to enjoy our meal alongside our dog. Their friendly and accommodating approach made us feel valued as customers and pet owners."
