"Having wandered through Wellington on a Tuesday evening in search of somewhere to eat I ended up at the Iron Duke a Weatherspoons pub. I normally try to avoid Weatherspoons for all sorts of reasons but it was the only place open (except...for a Chinese restaurant from which a somewhat unpleasant smell of food emanated). The Iron Duke wasn’t overly busy service was quick efficient. I opted for ham eggs chips. All well cooked and a good sized plateful."

"We love stopping here on our journey home. Great friendly staff, wonderful food and a great atmosphere no matter what time of year. The specials board is updated regularly. The selection of local beers is good. We discovered the hot chocolate which can be straight or a shot of orange or raspberry liqueur makes it beautiful. Just 10 mins off junction 26 for real food and a warm welcome."

"It's hard to get vegan options in the countryside in Devon. Most places rarely provide one option. I don't normally rate places with options but this I would absolutely recommend. The chef and staff seemed very keen on supporting vegans. They kept coming back and talking to me about the food and how to improve it. They have a few options on the menu and a vegan option for Sunday, including yorkshire puddings and gravy. I was so impressed I'll be sure to go back and would highly recommend them to vegans. One of best around! Unfortunately they're not open in the week, only Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for food. Updated from previous review on 2022-08-08"

"3 friends and I went here for breakfast yesterday. The service was slow considering the place was virtually empty. The meals arrived intermittently with one taking a particularly long time. My vegan friend was served with 2 fried eggs and had to return the dish. My poached eggs were watery and the toast was totally limp and soggy. Also whatever they had put on the toast it was not butter. Such a pity as their lunches are excellent, but I won't be back for breakfast."
