"Firstly - we just loved this place. Well presented...clean....well designed...an extremely warm welcome and a way to learn how the dairy system works in this country. Staying up in the glorious Alpbachtal ourselves we've seen the farmers scything their steep fields by hand & discovered at this Working Farm that the Tyrol produces 'hay milk'. No `additives....no silage....just meadow flowers & herbs mixed with dry grass for wintering cattle. This is why the milk & joghurts are so delicious....and the cheeses so unique. This dairy experience offers headphones and a carefully structured stroll around the entire system from cow to butters, cheeses & yoghurts. After completing the diary there is an open-air farm with goats, chickens, cows etc. Ideal for the family too. At the end of the visit there's a lovely cafe (try the ice creams) & farm shop. Highly recommended & could be easy to miss (it's 5' down the Ziller valley from Mayrhoffen)"

"Für uns als Familie ist es schon schwierig, dass in einem Restaurant alle zufriedengestellt werden, vor allem nicht über einen Zeitraum von einer Woche. Unsere älteste Tochter hat mehrere Lebensmittelallergien, die Mama ist seit 25 Jahren überzeugte Vegetarierin, die jüngste Tochter isst wirklich nicht sehr viele Dinge und für Papa gehört ein gutes Stück Fleisch oder Fisch dazu.Der Küchenchef im Berggasthof Gerlosstein hatte also keine leichte Aufgabe, zumal es die besondere Lage des Hotels es mit sich bringt, dass es auch keine Ausweichmöglichkeiten gibt ( ohne mit der Gondel aufwendig ins Tal zu fahren).Die Aufgabe uns zufrieden zu stellen hat er nun 3 Jahre hintereinander vorzüglich gelöst (alleine, dass wir wiedergekommen sind zeigt das) und wir freuen uns schon auf das hervorragende Essen im nächsten Jahr!Besonders hervorheben möchte ich, dass es auch für unsere Allergikerin täglich leckere Gerichte und Nachspeisen gab, was bei Allergien gegen Ei, Nuss, Weizen und Milch nicht einfach ist!"

"Wunderschöner Blick über Mayrhofen und das Zillertal in Richtung Norden. Leider kann die Karte in Variation, Zubereitung und Ausführung in keiner Weise mit dem Panorama mithalten. Als Wanderstation gut geeignet, als Abendessens-Lokal unbedingt meiden. Salate aus dem 5 L Eimer, Toast wird als selbstgemachtes Brot verkauft, frischer Kren wird als Sahnemeerrettich aus dem Glas angeboten etc. Wirt geht überhaupt nicht auf oben angesprochene Themen ein, sondern beschwert sich über die Touristen."
