"We're going here more often. the scavengers (before all scavengers) and the rumpsteaks are sensational. the side salad has a very tasty dressing and the beer is always perfectly tapped. there is a large selection of pils, weeping, white beer and sasion beer. the chef sometimes gets a little bit of a mess but the 2 services are extremely nice. our children can be beautifully torn on the playground and you sit in the beer garden. In addition, you can walk around the outside wonderfully in meadow valleys and forest."

"If you are visiting the Rhine valley, having dinner in a restaurant overlooking the river would be lovely. Yet, this was not the case with this restaurant. Nothing about this restaurant was bad, yet nothing was particularly special. The menu had limited choices. The portions were good, the presentation of the food nice, but nothing to remember and talk about it later. I took the fillet mignon (around 21 Euros). We were a large group of people (over 25 people), we showed up unexpected, they managed to accommodate us, but the menu choices ran out fast and the service was very slow. The staff was very friendly."

"This was my second visit to this restaurant. The first time around we attended an event and the food and service was great. This time around we came with family for dinner whilst touring though the region. Unfortunately, our experience couldn't have been any more different compared to our first one. The service was slow, I felt that we were more an inconvenience than appreciated. The food was okay, but the portions were small and some of it wasn't even cooked properly. The shame thing about it all is that the estuarine was even full or overly busy. I certainly won't be coming back for a while but might give it a try after a while again to give it one more chance, given that our first visit was a good experience."

"This is the second time we have been to the Gasthaus zum Engel. The restaurant is very centrally located and just a few minutes' walk from the Rhine in the middle of the beautiful wine town of Erbach. The restaurant has a very nice interior with a large hall. However, both times we sat in the very cozy outdoor area in the building's inner courtyard. The food corresponds to good home cooking. The schnitzels in particular are highly recommended! If you still haven't had enough, you should definitely try the apple rings DELICIOUS! The great atmosphere and delicious food are accompanied by wines from local winemakers in the region. The white “Ella” in particular goes great with the dishes on offer in warm weather. All around a great place to stop for a break with very friendly service staff! 5 out of 5 stars for the angel"
