"We visited for Sunday midday and, wow! what a meal, it was an absolute firm of 3 curses. the atmosphere is fantastic, the personal is really friendly and hospitable. the pub has a great feeling, very spacious. my only tip would be to be hungry. you need the room!"

"Fantastic place for children under 10 who would enjoy a walk to the hidden gnomes that are dotted around the square. over 250 gnomes well placed in the park. a built-in playground with swings and a big slide to entertain the children at the end. the garden center is well organized and the staff is extremely helpful. beautiful way to buy the garden or go gnomes with a seat in the garden and have a coffee or more from the restaurant in the shop."

"My husband wanted a table by the window. One had a reserved sign on which was fine but there was one free which my husband asked for. He was promptly told that the table was reserved for people with dogs. It seems very strange to turn away custom because you don’t have a dog. We had our granddaughter though. Very bizarre."

"Great food and lovely staff. The Sunday lunch was excellent; sumptuous roast beef and a host of vegetables all cooked to perfection. Puddings were tempting but we simply couldn’t make room! The staff were polite and efficient. We will be returning."

"I stayed here with my brother for four nights as part of a walking holiday in North Devon. The room was grand basic but very clean though the mattresses are a not the most comfortable. Breakfast was pre packed due to covid, which was OK. Tina was really helpful with advice, guidance and table bookings. Overall, a very good stay."
