"Ozzes plage was a surprise. the cod was fresh and the teig and the chips kicked too crispy perfection. the portions are very generous, the medium-sized cod chips had simply fed 3-4 people. we are coming back"

"Took my beautiful girlfriend and dog to the very picturesque area of Calbourne for a muddy Sunday walk and I could not think of any more perfect than a Sunday roast. Blacksmith Arms is a fantastic family run rustic country pub. We were offered a very warm welcome from the rain with dog biscuits, blanket and roaring fire awaiting us. The pub itself is very rustic with farmhouse style furniture and modern fixtures and fittings which offers a wonderful compromise on the old and new. The food was amazing and excellent value for money. It was a real treat to see it coming out of the kitchen and a sight to see in front of you, with a beautiful presentation. Highlights of the meal: stuffing and crackling which were absolutely to die for. Couple that with the outstanding views it offers of our beautiful home and country walks just across the road. This pub offers a perfect epicentre for a perfect Sunday treat. Huge well done guys and congratulations on your Red Funnel award. Based on what we experienced, it is well and truly deserved and you should be so proud of yourselves and your team."

"Amazing fish and chips with very friendly staff, there is a bit of a wait and some times there’s a long wait, but you expect that when know it’s the best chippy on the island, with many awards, hence why you have to wait, as it’s gets very very busy and is only a small premises, well done to all the staff who work extremely hard, you never fail us your food is amazing as are your sauces and we will be back again next week for our usual order"

"We had an excellent lunch at God's Providence House with very friendly service. The food is home made and really good, I had a jacket potato that had never seen a microwave! Properly oven cooked with crispy skin. My husband's steak pie was extremely good, high quality steak with proper shortcrust pastry. The setting was lovely, looking out onto the church and square. Really good service, we were so pleased to have gone there for lunch. I highly recommend!"
