What Judi Cope doesn't like about Southern Hickory Barbecue Restaurant:
Our very first time eating here so my husband got it to go...I would give 5 stars for the food but it would have been better if they would have put some BBQ sauce in bag or at least asked if we wanted BBQ sauce.. we spent almost $30 and drove 10 miles to get it because we are not from here...I'm sure I'm not the first person who's complained about no sauce...It just ruins the whole meal......food was good but just di... Food is good but the young girls working there have the personality of a stale pringle. They act like it kills their soul to help you.
Just finished my meal here, one of us got ribs, the others got pulled pork. None of it was like a run of the mill southern BBQ place, it all seemed to have its own distinct recipe apart from what you'd normally find. The ribs had a distinct smoky flavor, and call me crazy but it almost had a coconutty flavor that I personally loved. The sauces were also very good and not just standard syrupy sweet sauce. Ps for anyone looking online, the prices in store as of 2024 are cheaper than what Google says here. Thoroughly recommended 10/10
The bbq is really good. The drive-through service was fast.
They need to get the orders right what a mess this is not the first time but will probably be the last don't waste your time there
No other Brunswick stew will do !! When it’s “in season” (only avail in fall and winter SHBBQ’s stew is the ONLY place to go !! My goodness ! Their stew is just the right spicy mixed with succulent pork/turkey (your choice ; savory potatoes and country veggies !! IT IS fantastic !! The only thing about winter in Alabama I look forward to is Southern Hickory BBQ’s Brunswick Stew !! Cullman, Hartselle and Arab locations ! All are great and have the nicest people that serve with a southern smile !
