Many vegan options and all delicious! The chef bent over backwards to grill my eggplant instead of frying it. He also swapped out gluten free options for pasta for us. They were so accommodating! We will be back and I highly recommend them. View all feedback.
What Lauren B doesn't like about Amicizia:
We have been waiting for this place to open. Food was very good, homemade pasta and sauces were tasty. The menu is a bit pricey especially for the portion sizes. Several FOH issues they are still sorting through they need a host stand, issues with the wine distributor caused them to be out of 2 bottles we selected. Our server was also inexperienced did not give us small plates with the bread, was not at all knowledge... View all feedback.

Excellent service from some very friendly, professional waitstaff. Waitstaff all very well versed is menu, options, and wine. Kitchen staff have it really going on!! Some amazing menu choices, all served in massive portions for price! Eggplant parm with a steak size piece of eggplant. Calzone the size of large platter. Excellent quality ingredients, diverse menu options. Many many vegetarian or vegan options. Great size place, very clean. I would maybe hope in future maybe some outdoor dining option added. But little hidden gem in west avl!!
They hand make the pasta here. If you don't mind paying just a little more than the chain places you can have real dishes. I orderd ravioli came with breadsticks and sauce. Order a coke. I had to order salad did not come with it. It was huge. The size of my main dish. All that plus a 25% tip was 19 and some change.
I ate here for the first time a few days ago, and I 'm very glad that I gave them a chance. The food was very good! As other reviewers say everything tastes fresh and homemade, including the noodles. Even the table bread was impressively tasty. My dining partner ordered pasta with the vegan meatballs, and they were surprisingly good. Many (most? Chefs don 't know how to prepare imitation meat to taste good. They usually fail to season it and show it love like they would real meat. The chef came out to talk to the diners, including us. As he talked I could tell that he gives serious thought and effort to creating good food. That 's pretty refreshing when you compare to franchise Italian restaurants like Olive Garden. The only reason I didn 't give 5 stars is because I think the menu needs some improvement. There 's a page for lunch, and 1 for dinner, but there 's no explanation on what the actual difference except the price. I asked the waitress and she didn 't know either. If they polish the menu up I would give them 5 stars. Either way I will be back there to eat again.
Yum...The food was great! They offer a bread that is served with a very tasty marinara sauce. For my meal, I had the Chicken Marsala and it was delicious. The noodles were a lovely wide flat noodle and the mushrooms were adequate in size and portion, very goldilocks- not too big, not too small. The ratio of chicken to mushrooms and to noodles was prefect. Everyone in my party was pleased with their entrees and not a bite was left. The portions were reasonable!
