Rifugio Auronzo - AURONZO DI CADORE

Il cibo è buono, ma la lingua del proprietario non è veramente adatta per un luogo pubblico.

Eccellente pizzeria da asporto e per mangiare sul posto. L'arredamento interno è molto particolare e curato, consiglio il dehors durante l'estate. Le pizze sono davvero ottime, ma non solo. Suggerisco di prenotare in anticipo sia per l'asporto che per mangiare sul posto.

Ristorante con vista sul lago molto grazioso. Il tagliere e la pizza erano davvero buoni. Gentilezza squisita da parte di tutto il personale. Ci torneremo.

Got stuck here waiting for a storm to pass (for two hours! and had a great experience. Such beautiful views and great coffee. Starting point for the loop hike and also in front of the Cadini di Misurina trail.

After a challenging hike around Tre Cima di Lavaredo on October 10th, we were surprised to find that Rifugio Auronzo was open. Most things in the region are now shut until ski season. We were even more surprised to find plenty of food for vegans to eat. Now I can't guarantee they didn't use beef stock or butter (I didn't ask) but the core ingredients were plant-based. I had a lovely simple minestrone soup to start which put the heat back in my bones. I followed that with polenta, roasted aubergine and roasted mushrooms. This was nourishing and decent but not full of flavour. I suspect that the elevation thing may have come into play here and I really just needed to add a bunch of salt. They have a range of drinks and we had two americano coffees with soy milk. Prices were also great considering the location and potential to gouge all the tourists. Well worth a stop if you are hiking around there.
