"Nice hotel. I didn't stay as a guest, but I had dinner one night. It's very pricy for what you get. I paid 170 NOK for a bottle of cidre almost 15GBP. The staff was nice and friendly, but I found it strange that many of the staff there did not speak Norwegian in the summer! Everyone has spoken English! Is definitely worth a visit, but check before you order something to eat or drink."

"We had a nice time in Balestrand, which was only made better by our visit to Cider House. We spent about 30 minutes over the apple and the process, followed by a delicious tasting of cedars and snacks from the owner himself. This is a must in Balestrand!"

"Friendly staff and a nice looking restaurant. Unfortunately the food is not very special. We had the fish soup as starter and the salmon and veggie burger as mains. It's not bad but I do not believe it's home made. It all tasted industrial like food you eat in a road side restaurant. On top of that the smell of the frying pan is predominant. Unfortunately only filter coffee, which was made a long time ago. The owner can do so much more with this lovely location. Please invest in a proper air filtering system, a proper coffee machine and start preparing the food yourself."

"We are only available for drinks, a 15-minute walk from Balastrand city centre. Follow the sign. It is a beautiful place, with very warm and friendly service. The drinks (cider and alcohol-free) were really great. Prices are even higher for Norwegian standards than the average. Try to get a table on the first floor on the balcony, great views over the fjord. The food is very well closed, but we haven't eaten there."
