a wonderful country pub. great eating and very friendly helpful staff that they feel very welcome. in the midst of nowhere a landmark down, fine in daylight, but slightly frightening in the dark. but don't let you go, it's worth it. scenic gardens and surrounding forests and hills made me feel that I had gone back in time and the large open wood fire was the icing on the cake. Beautiful environment and good, unpredictable eating. really helpful, friendly staff made our mothers day lunch in the garden feel very relaxed. interior view of the pub looks very traditional and cozy
Hadn't been for almost a year after coming for a last minute lunch, remembered why we love this pub! Staff so nice, food good value tasty of course dog friendly with a beautiful garden,it won't be a year til we come back!
Reasonable price, nice food. I had a homemade double burger which was something like £12!. A tiny bit cold in the dining room though, it was the middle of winter and the wood burner had been alight but not warm when we were there.
This is a fantastic pub hidden away in the South Downs. Very dog friendly, and very friendly landlord. We enjoyed a lovely meal and then headed off for a great walk.
Traditional pub. Excellent beer. Excellent welcome. Excellent food. Wonderful location.
