I'd been travelling out of state to visit my great-grandma here since I was a child, before I even went vegetarian. After going vegan, eating out was difficult at best. I'm not used to being able to find good vegan food out to eat in Ellsworth, and this place had several options! I had the french toast, and it was amazing! I couldn't find a menu online so I messaged them on facebook and explained and they sent me the... View all feedback.

I had the Tofu Scrambble, which is easy to do, but that was just bad. the only seasoned was tumeric and too much of it. no wobble, garlic, smokey paprika. every kochdemo on youtube would make better. the service was excellent and friendly. View all feedback.
After reading the previous reviews I was a bit skeptical to find vegan breakfast options here. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the caffe had a tofu veggie throwing and a vegan gf french toast, on other options! I felt greeted by my server, jody, attentive and friendly, as well as the authentic, local atmosphere of caffe, with local art decorating walls. I strongly recommend stopping for a meal!
Since moving to the area, I had been very interested in the Riverside Cafe, but they aren't open for dinner so it took a while to get there for lunch. The place has such nice comfortable ambiance, and is clearly popular with local s and travelers. The options are much better for vegetarians than vegans. I didn't feel like having french toast for lunch or a sandwich, so I asked to swap tofu and hummus for bacon and egg on the spinach salad. The salad was nice, the hummus was homemade and a little special, and the tofu was a bit bland, especially for herb-seasoned and roasted There was an upcharge for adding tofu and hummus, though it was only 75 cents per item. The server was so great and helpful, and it was such a nice experience, I didn't push the upcharge. Unfortunately I won't be hurrying back for lack of interesting or abundant vegan options.
They offer vegan french toast as well as a tofu scramble. I was told the vegetarian sausages are also vegan, and a few other vegetarian items. They are a bit pricey, but the food is good.
Couple decent vegan options. I had the tofu spinach wrap, it was delicious. very friendly staff
I guess I'm trying to have a tofu storm, but it was very bad. it is as if they had taken the tofu, combed with canned guarantees and put the curcuma on it and called it a day. no season. the “home fries” were only literally roasted potato cubes. not a taste of taste. the service was great.
