"Travelled to Ballachulish to watch the shinty and I'm now delighted it was cancelled as I discovered this gem instead. Very welcoming, good atmosphere and great staff, definitely be making more regular visits!!"

"No place that applies to families with teenagers. have been visiting the farmer for years and was recently with my teenage son. there is a bar lounge (in effect a restaurant) as well as the boat bar that is known under the climbing community and is strongly highlighted in the website. unfortunately even if Scottish license law youth in bars with responsible adult allow that the clachaig has decided to have a plan that prevents this. When I asked to bring my son to enjoy the atmosphere, and as a commercial mountaineer, I was prevented from it. very sad and not necessary. a simple updating of their licensing plans would fix this and could be done if they wanted. I also tried to follow and in the did get the same answer; can not do a great place for adults only and families with young children, but not older children with their parents. with the lounge bar with young children and babies we returned to our room, tw and equipment not the plan for our weekend as vater and teen son. best to go somewhere else where you can enjoy all the facilities offered."

"It wasn't good for us. The young men fought for demand. both seemed inexperienced at providing table service, but were incredibly nice and apologetic. Forgotten water, a falling dosis of Irn-bru plonked on the table (without glass and no attempt to open) which then sprayed everywhere as soon as it was opened by my son. we asked, but never a towel to wipe the spillage. at the end of a journey into the bar and I myself cleaned. eating was bad in quality (although my steak was pretty good) and amount, but that was forgiven as we eat on the food out to help schema. we never complained in the night, left a tip from no other reason, then the young at the end did their best, we felt sorry for them, because I can only assume that they had a hard day at work (and none of them had.) This assessment is therefore asked in the hotel management team instead of the young men who do their best."

"Great portions. Had two haddock and chips. Few bones in both fish, but nicely cooked. The let down was they were busy and instead of wrapping and handing over once cooked they were putting the cooked items under the warning lights. This meant they were not piping hot by the time we got them. May have been better if we had sat in."

"Me and my husband used to frequent this pub often. Amazing food, surroundings etc. However we were both disappointed with the food that was served. Several years ago it used to be amazing but at weekend , it was just average. We were disappointed. Management needs to sort this out. We hope to return again. Hopefully the standard of the food will improve."

"Usual fantastic Hogmanay in the Clachaig. Thanks to all the hard working staff behind the bar (you are the best), in the kitchen and behind the scenes. Thanks for all the lovely ales and the entertainment. Sorry about the mess I made with the party poppers and most of all thanks for letting us stay."

"Always love our wee stop on the way up North lovely staff and great cafe food, always feels freshly made plus love the coconut slice, can't remember how many times we've stopped here very the years, a great pit stop and wander round the shop."

"I came here with my Pops and my little dog Sorrell. We had a lovely jacket spud with haggis, beautifully made coffees and fruit juices. The food was delicious, the two girls serving us were really nice and friendly and to top it all, Sorrell enjoyed a sausage which was nicely chopped up in a little bowl. Lovely atmosphere. You should definitely come here."
