Great service. Excellent Pub fare. We have made this our regular stop for wings! We always get excellent service and have a favourite waitress. Also, love the Chicken Caesar wrap. I find the sweet potatoes fries to die for! View all feedback.
What Kathy P doesn't like about Don Cherry's Sports Grill Stoney Creek:
Sorry to say this guys, but, this has to be the first time we have been to our favourite neighborhood restaurant, that we have left disappointed! Firstly sat on the bar stool tables by the rink window, for 20 minutes, no service. Moved to a recently vacated booth, still no service. Had to wave down waiter to get menus. Finally got served. Table next to us asked if service for us was slow. Which in this case yes . The... View all feedback.
The restaurant is declining rapidly. The main problem is the food quality. My hockey team used to visit regularly, but now we only go occasionally and prefer other options due to the poor food. The riblets were extremely tough, almost like wood chips. The wings were unavailable because they had been left out overnight. The beer is often flat or not even available. The biggest issue seems to be the complete absence of management. The servers are good, but they are limited in their abilities due to these issues. The only positive aspect is that it is conveniently located for post-game meals.
The restaurant is located on the second floor, offering nice views of the ice rink. The onion rings were tasty, but the portion size was smaller than expected for the price.
Last Friday night, my boyfriend, my two kids, and I went out for dinner. When we arrived, there was a loud, large group in the middle of the restaurant, so we opted for a booth towards the back for some peace and quiet. However, we waited for 25 minutes before a waitress came over, as she seemed preoccupied with serving another table multiple times. The rest of the staff seemed more interested in chatting and hanging out at the bar than attending to customers. Our waitress, when she finally came over, was pleasant but only did the bare minimum. We would have left if we didn't have a gift card that was expiring the next day. Our food arrived relatively quickly and was decent, although the 1 lb of wings only consisted of 7 wings, so my daughter ended up eating off of our plates to feel satisfied. We had to refill our own drinks at the pop machine in the back as it was not offered to us. Another group arrived and moved all the tables together, essentially taking over the back half of the restaurant. We had to ask them to move so we could leave. When I requested to speak to the manager, the waitress said he was too busy in the back to see me. I expressed my concerns to her, mentioning that it seemed like they only paid attention to regulars or large groups. This was the second time we had experienced this and we will not be returning. The waitress did not seem surprised by our feedback, indicating that she had heard similar complaints before.
A dozen of us showed up for dinner on a Friday night. Food was quick and excellent. Service was amazing. Thanks “A”
