Came here on the way to a show at the Capitol Theatre (literally round the corner) and had an amazing dinner. They have a lunch special ALL DAY for $8.90 and the servings were enormous. I had chilli jam chicken and rice. It was delicious, spicy with heaps of chicken. My friend had cashew nut chicken which was also delicious and very generously portioned. We couldn't finish. What User doesn't like about Satang Tuck Shop:
Honestly, I will not vote this place for the most authentic Thai Restaurant in town. However, the foods were decent. My vegetarian fried rice was enjoyable, but the portion was just too big. Nothing was really special, but we finished most of the dishes. Service: quick but sans smile. PLace is a bit crowded. When you crave for Thai, but don't have much time for lunch, this is probably the right place for you. View all feedback.
The taste is incredible! You must try the famous fried chicken - a crispy chicken fillet with a special peanut butter sauce. You won't be disappointed! The fried noodles are also delicious.
The serving sizes at this restaurant are generous, but so are the prices compared to other places in Chinatown. The food is tasty, especially the curries which are addictive, but the tom yum soup isn't as spicy as expected, likely to cater to Australian palates. Our only complaint was that the waitress had difficulty understanding our orders, requiring us to repeat ourselves several times. Overall, the service was mostly efficient and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, making it a nice spot for dinner.
I have visited Satang Thai on Quay Street before, so I had high expectations for the food and service. The food was still excellent, with large portions that were tasty and delicious. However, the service was lacking as we had to wait approximately 30 minutes for our food, which consisted mainly of curry rice and fried noodles. The menu was extensive, but most of the dishes were ones I had already tried. Overall, while Satang is a decent place to visit, there are many other quality Thai restaurants nearby that have left a more lasting impression on me.
This is the best Thai restaurant in Sydney. Very good food, staff very friendly, and quality 5 star. Always happy to have a dinner here.
My favorite Thai place in the town! I highly recommand the place, they are so friendly! And the red curry is simply amazing! There are lots of choice.
