What Susan C doesn't like about George Inn:
This is a lovely traditional pub and their accommodation is nice BUT the access to the rooms is abysmal! If you have mobility problems or the weather is bad forget it!! I arrived at the hotel in atrocious weather, the only way to the room was either through a crowded pub or up a dangerous steel staircase, with no shelter whatsoever!!!! Such a shame and but unfortunately never again!!! View all feedback.
Finished off our stay at Castleton with a visit to The George for food drinks and what a fabulous finale to our stay here. We were made so obviously welcome from the moment we walked in to best wishes as we left. Food was absolutely delicious...so thank you compliments to the chef their team... And a huge thank you to all the bar waiting staff...all quite simply an obvious asset to the George. Wonderful welcome, customer service second to none, beautiful ambience and delicious food... Can't wait to enjoy again when we return later in the year. Thank you all xx
A joy to visit, Michelle and the team were friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. Very dog friendly, staff going round feeding treats! Lovely atmosphere, highly recommend, have already booked a table for tomorrow!
We came in a really busy time (the place was packed, bank holiday weekends! without knowing what to expect. we sat on a large table (2.4 children in the garden and ordered instant food and drinks from the van, as by the clear signs. the process was really smooth and so the service was as efficient as possible. both our drinks and our eating arrived very quickly and from a happy, helpful worker who looked up us during our meal. the garden is beautiful and the look great. would benefit from a children's playground (you might say it: hopefully we come back a day when the teufel A**e was closed. we visited the burg, which was a big adventure, so that this stop was needed a lot from a food and alcohol perspective, to two parents with two small ones that refined on pizza!
An excellent place to stay and eat! we arranged and asked if our room was warm as it was a very cold day. at the arrival everything was handled very well and the room was nice and warm with great decor and facilities, including a complementary half bottle of wine. we ate in the pub and enjoyed a great meal. a great place around.
Really friendly pub. nice eating and good selection of drinks. it felt more the place of all the pubs we tried here, but everyone was really friendly and personal was great. only what I would suggest was more attentive to the kamin, as this seems to be a thema in the opposite.
