"Café Pony is just outside the city centre, but it is a cozy place. The staff is friendly, but there was not enough of them to provide a quick service. We ordered the burger set (with soup and salad) and a drink and sat at least 1.5 2 hours until we were able to finish very long waiting times. That means the carrot soup was very well balanced and tasteful. The salad was good. And the burger was quite bland and not very beautiful texture. Everything in all was overwhelming. But it's always nice to find a fully vegan place in Japan."

"It’s a good Kumamoto style ramen. Similar to Hakata, but with extra creamy broth with more hint of garlic, and black grilled garlic oil top. One yokibari ramen will be just enough for a average male. It’s a very rustic ramen restaurant that only what they are good at. Kumamoto Ramen. Would be 5 starts if the toppings are also good as the broth."

"If you are a pig fat lover, you can definitely not miss this katsu dun Pork Chop) store. Juicy, delicate, and crispy roasted pork liquor is very tasty with ample aroma. Service is good. Lunch special is a good negotiation."

"I went there twice during my short stay in Kumamoto and it was a pleasure. I loved the food and the price is OK as they serve salad soup and drink with the main dish! They use fresh and organic vegetables and if I understood well local products if they can. The Chef is very nice and run this place for more than 10years now!! The decoration is also very nice with old fashioned reused furnitures, chairs, lamps... A very nice vintage touch. There is a black board with lots of cultural events as far as I know everything was in Japanese but just ask to the chef who speaks English! And finally this reataurant is very well located in the centre of the city."
