besides a la carte menu they also offer bbq buffet. so it was convenient to choose between two or only moderate food. I actually enjoy their a la carte more than the bbq, with their cold nudel (naeng myun) was good in the nudel texture and the sauce taste. hot one-pot and sharp chicken was ok and there was one time when we had our meal, somehow some oil drops were from under the table and dirty the trouser of my man... What Randal Lehner doesn't like about Dae Jung Kum:
Beware... under new management and nothing like it once was. If I could give this dump a zero, I would. The pictures on the menu are false, with portions actually about half the size. The meat is really bad quality. The sauce that comes with the combos is pepper in oil. We even had to buy our own sauce at the supermarket across the road when they wouldn't let us use the buffet sauce. The managers just sit there and w... View all feedback.
Other than a la carte menu, they also serve BBQ buffet. So it was convenient to choose between pigging out or just moderate feed. I actually enjoy their a la carte more than the BBQ, with their cold noodle (naeng myun) was good in both the noodle's texture and the sauce taste. Hot stews and spicy chicken was ok. And there was one time when we had our meal, somehow some oil drippings was leaking from under the table and soiled my husband's trouser (luckily it wasn't hot that would hurt his legs), but it was also such a let down that something like that happened while we dine out.
I was pleasantly surprised !! Between three people we had set menu A, and asked to change the soy bean ramen to korean soy bean soup. It came with steamed egg and an array of really tasty side dishes. We also ordered an add on salad on the side ($3) and makgeolli (korean rice wine - my favourite korean alcoholic beverage). (Unfortunately not shown in the pictures) The meat was tasty and great portions , plus the waiters were very kind (very important point for me as to whether id come back or not!)
$30 for all you can eat Korean BBQ! Do I need to say much more? Great value for money, there was an extensive range of meat and seafood options to BBQ along with a salad bar and side dishes including kimchi, japchae, fried chicken etc. It was also an option to order off a menu as well as or instead of BBQ. My only problem with this restaurant is that it could be a little bit cleaner (there was a fly in my kimchi) and if it wasn't for that this place would get a higher rating from me.
Average Korean fare. The last time we were there there was an abundance of flies in the restaurant so imagine having to eat your food whilst constantly swatting flies out of the way. Not very pleasant at all. I would come here if there wasn't a greater choice of Korean restaurants around the area but this is Sunnybank so I'll take myself somewhere else next time.

We even had to buy our own sauce at the supermarket across the road when they wouldn't let us use the buffet sauce. The managers just sit there and watch you eat, and the waitress sits there playing on her phone, praying you'll leave. Saw other tables spitting out the meat as well. Simply awful. Much better options around.
