Pretty cute and cozy cocktail bar! To enter the bar you go through a door marked 21+ by the bathroom of the Babcock restaurant. It's a pretty small place so we had to wait about 15 minutes tucked into an awkward corner by the fire place before we could get a table.The drinks were pretty decent, although some of the old fashions in the flight tasted a bit off from what you'd expect from a nice cocktail bar. What John S doesn't like about The Lilac League:
They don 't take reservations and It 's a first come first serve cocktail bar but yet they don 't have a stand in bar. In other words you can 't even grab a drink and stand by the bar while you wait for the first table to open!! Stopped by for a quick drink before they closed. The server was wonderful by not making us feel rushed and answered any questions we had. They have a few apps, but you can bring your drink over to Babcocks the restaurant next door. It was summer so we had our dog and sat on the patio. There was live music playing outside which was nice for the atmosphere. My husband got the old fashion flight and really enjoyed it! It’s a great spot in Lombard!
Love this place...the drinks are awesome and the bartenders are very nice and friendly!
It's so cute! Perfect place for a date. It's super small so it might be a bit of a wait for a table but it's so worth it. The drinks were so fun and very pretty.
A fun little place with lovely, cozy, welcoming ambiance, friendly service and delicious drinks that change seasonally. I loved the Lilac Haze, and SIL enjoyed Saturn's Rings. We enjoyed stealing away from family for an hour after dinner and before closing at 10PM. I can't wait to return for creative, well-made drinks in a comfortable, soothing setting.
