"Dropped in here recently for a cocktail.The barman was friendly and made a very good cocktail. we had apple sours and a daquari, which were excellent. The locals were friendly.The bar is large and well spread out, with lots of old relics from times gone...by. Lovely open fires were lit while we were there. We did not want to leave. The barman told us there is music at night and a disco upstairs, so it is open late. We cannot comment on either as we did not partake."

"I’ve done many reviews of The Purple Onion over the years. Have been going there a few times a year since it opened about Never been disappointed. The food, the place, the atmosphere and the welcome are always was a family outing for my wife and mine’s wedding anniversary. I can only say that it was probably the best meal we’ve ever had in The Purple Onion. I won’t bore readers with details of everyone’s choice. Suffice to say that not a single scrap not one scrap of food was left uneaten. It was a fabulous meal. Service was courteous but efficient. Food was simply excellent. As I’ve written in previous reviews just go there."
