What Katie L doesn't like about Spice Connexion:
Tikka masala tasted like tomato soup, but they came in strong with the heat. I requested spicy and it was a surprising level 4-ish Indian heat. But I probably wouldn’t get this again; I don’t like tomato soup lol Although the chicken in my tikka masala and the free rice were cooked well, so I’d recommend opting for a biriyani, as it’s probably fire . I also tried their samosas and they were pretty good. I’m not normally a fan of chutney and rarely use it, but I loved the flavors of theirs. It made the samosas even better. And if you’re looking for authentic, well I only saw white ppl there lol but this is WV and I’m not sure how the Indian population fairs here so don’t discount it entirely I guess
We went there for the very first time 3 weeks ago. It was so good we returned the following week. This is the BEST Indian food I've ever had. Seriously. I literally dream about their Chicken Kurma! The rich, creamy, cashew sauce is one of the best things I've ever had!! The Chef is a genius... the pureed cashews make the Kurma out of this world good! His creations are literally world class. The vegetable fritters are also delicious. Best EVER. The two different dipping sauces they serve with them are crazy delicious. The Daal (yellow lentil soup fabulous. My wife had the Lamb Kurma and she was in heaven eating it. All of their naan are DELICIOUS. Our two favorites are the garlic naan, and (like the band Beatles naan, which is made with cashews, and coconut. YUM! She also had the Lamb Kofta which she liked. The Chicken Tamarind is another hit. Sweet, savory... WONDERFUL!! We can't wait to go back again and again and again.... there's so much we haven't tried yet. The service is excellent and very friendly. The Chef even came out (I'm sure he heard us raving about everything and introduced himself briefly. Loved that! He definitely should be proud of his world class creations!! We both rate it a solid 10/10 and HIGHLY recommend it! We'll be back next week. : My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Vegetarian options: LOTS of delicious vegetarian options to be had! In fact, just about for every meat dish, they also have a vegetarian version. In fact, I think they offer a few more vegetarian dishes than meat dishes.
SO happy to have found them! Vegetable Samosas, Aloo Naan Malai Kofta for the WIN!
Good food, and the service was okay, but about halfway through my meal there was an overpowering smell of spray paint that overtook the restaurant. So much so that I asked the waitress if we needed to be concerned. She said it was just someone painting in the kitchen... yeah. No way that is safe or sanitary during business hours (dinner). The smell finally dissipated, but I am glad I got my food before the kitchen was turned into an art project.
This place is absolutely incredible. Like, mind-blown incredible. I got take out and could not be more impressed. Everything was wrapped in saran wrap to prevent any leaking. My heart breaks that I don't live anywhere near here and may never be able to have this again. The food itself was otherworldly good. I got the vegetable samosas, roti and paneer tikka masala. The samosas were delicious and huge. I expected they would be your typical size, slightly bigger than a golf ball. These things were, no joke, the size of a softball. Filling was perfectly seasoned and I really enjoyed the red hot sauce that came with them. The roti was delicious, but seems a bit overpriced at $3 for a single roti. I ordered the paneer tikka masala at the third level of spiciness and I enjoy spicy foods. It was perfectly spicy, just enough to get your nose running and cancel your meetings for tomorrow morning. The overall flavor was indescribably good, hit every note perfectly. Rice was perfectly cooked and there was plenty of both to fill even the beefiest man. If you're anywhere near here looking for food, and you don't eat here, you're doing yourself a disservice. Be better to yourself, you deserve it.
