Wow! An amazing transformation of what used to be Tim Horton's downtown. It has a clean, modern look, which is very appealing. I had their London Fog tea and a gluten-free peanut butter cookie; both were very, very good! For those people who are gluten-free, there is an appealing variety of baked goods. ? View all feedback.
What K X doesn't like about Poolhouse Cafe Roastery- Formerly Madhatter Coffee Roastery:
I used to make the trip down here all the way from Southridge when they were in the old place because it was so lovely. The new place reminds me of a hospital cafeteria, the vibe just isn't there anymore. I do understand that price increases come with the economy, but the price of their coffee beans has gone up quite a bit compared to what it used to be. THE coffee shop to hit up if you 're road tripping. Giving a 4 to balance the 5 STARS the coffee deserves and the ONLY 2 our food deserved. I think some of the pastries are fantastic (ie: blueberry coffee cake muffins! , and cappuccino was EXCELLENT (get the 8oz if eating in 'cause I 'm pretty sure it 's more than 8 anyway ? , but veg quiche was super bland and avocado toast the worst I 've ever had. (Please slice bread thicker, mash FRESH avocados, lose the balsamic (and ideally add lime cilantro . Got a big chunk of grey-green oxidized avo on mine. Also egg was undercooked on top. And I prefer poached but won 't hold that against them.
Super friendly staff and terrific coffee! A very minor complaint is when my panini was toasted the lettuce became soggy. It didn't stop me from eating it though
Really good coffee! Delicious! Also had their breakfast burrito and it was super tasty! I will be back!
Great coffee and fresh sandwiches, excellent friendly staff. Will definitely come again.
This place is pretty much worth all the hype. So cute. The vibe in here is sooo so awesome? I got a Chai frappe to go (drank most of it inside but, iykyk) it was literally amazing. My mom got a London fog and said it was insane. The eclair: she said was on par. There was someone training when we went, which is so so cool. On the job training is the best way forward. Our drinks took like a second longer but what can I say? There was jusy another badass batista in training so... it was also well air-conditioned which was nice. They have outdoor seating as well though for those who prefer sitting outside in the extreme Canadian temperatures. Bonus points: they have alternative milks. Oat and spy only though to be exact!
