This is always our first stop when we arrive at the beach. I am a southern girl and trust me, I know my hush puppies and these are the best I have ever eaten. We usually sit at the bar just to keep it simple because there is almost always a wait. Plenty of cocktail options and we are always fully satisfied sharing one of the large combo plates and an extra basket of hush puppies of course! Nice local feel when we are... View all feedback.
What Joseph Moss doesn't like about Shore Thing And Billiards:
Very nice people that operate this location. Recommend the salads and wings. The sandwich of choice for me is the Philly cheese steak. Did I say nice people. Plenty of league play here. Diamond tables which had three teams go to Vegas for APA last session. Operators for APA and BCA are the best and help you at the drop of a hat. If you are interested in bringing yourself or your team please see almost anyone there. A... View all feedback.
When I visit Myrtle Beach, SC I always make time for dinner at this restaurant. There's usually a wait, but I have never had to wait more than 20 min. They have inside and covered patio seating. The staff is amazing! They know their seafood and always are ready to give suggestions and explain menu items. The food- simply AMAZING!! I have never had a bad meal or walked away without a to-go box. I usually get oysters, scallops, and fish. Always fresh, lightly battered and delicious!! The atmosphere is fun, with music playing as you enjoy the casual beachy vibes.
Was down in South Carolina visiting the family and one of the dining choices they opted for was Bimini's as they had not been there yet for some reason. As someone always game to try a new place since I can get some cool foodie photos and of course Yelp about the experience. We headed to the restaurant at 5 to be done early and there was already about a thirty minute wait for a table. They have a nice outside section to enjoy but it was about 95 degrees out and I preferred being in the air-conditioning. For those who feel like drinking a couple of beverages while they wait there is a small stand that serves beers and a few other items but the choices are limited since its pretty much a few coolers and a stand. There is a photo op set up as well which I felt was nice, and especially if you have kids with you. Once inside we got right to ordering from the very friendly waitstaff but alas I didn't jot down his name. Though they are known for being an oyster bar there are numerous other seafood options to choose from. I had a stuffed crab entree which came with some hush puppies and depending on your choice, either vegetables or their homemade potato chips. Pop had the same and my mother more of a crab cake dish and suffice it to say there wasn't anything left when we were finished. The place is on the loud side but has a cool vibe and seems to be great for reasonable sized groups. This is a definite recommendation if you're in the region. I hope to come back here to try something different on my next visit.
30 minute wait for a 2 top at 7 p.m. on a Sunday. Had a chance to talk to some locals while waiting. Ordered the calamari sticks for appetizers. Came with marinara sauce. OK. Nothing to write home to mom about. Wouldn't order them again. Ordered the calabash shrimp for main meal. Came with slaw and fries. Good choice. Always enjoy calabash style shrimp that is prepared properly. Wife made mistake of thinking red bottle contained ketchup and not cocktail sauce. Our waiter was nice enough to bring out another order of fries to replace the cocktail sauce drenched fries. It was busy and our waiter was hustling. Greatly appreciated. Would I come back? Yes. Would I recommend to family and friends? Yes. Even picked up a sticker to put on the back of my truck.
The service was very good. Went for their happy hour deals. Mixed drinks were too sweet for my liking. Oysters were very fresh and tasty but inconsistent with size many were very scrawny and had little meat. Nice chill atmosphere. It gets busy fast so definitely come early!
We ordered the classic steam pot to share between two of us and it was the perfect amount of food. All of the seafood tasted so fresh and the hush puppies were an amazing add on! Great dinner find for our vacation to Myrtle Beach.
