Where to start... I've been in Florida over two weeks now and went to Toothsome last night. It is now my favourite place to eat!!! (I cant stop talking about it) The food was AMAZING!! If you have a sweet tooth make sure you save space for dessert because the Sundae's and the chocolate mousse are delicious. The burgers were so good, usually when I go out to eat and order a burger I'll only finish half of it and in to... View all feedback.
What MidoriMist doesn't like about Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen:
To start, I ordered their hummus plate, which was delicious and already vegan! For an entree they have vegetarian options that can be made vegan, so this visit I got the Super Foods salad without Feta and it blew my mind how much they put into that salad! For dessert they have an all vegan pineapple upside down shake; the cake on top was all i needed to fill up, but the one sip i took of the shake was great! They off... View all feedback.
The French toast terrace melt was huge and definitiw one must. the chicken stable and the cheeseburger both came with rolls that were a little stale and fell apart. the bacon burger can be on a pretzel baking and that was good. there are desserts are amazing, but 16 dollars each so in not sure whether we would get them back. overall it was pretty good, I think we would go back and try different things.
We had the chocolate brew and strawberry cheesecake milkshake. they looked incredibly pretty and cost only about $15, which are not terrible for such an elaborate drink. they didn't taste too great. the acid cream flavored milkshake in strawberry cheesecake was terrible. an earthy basis would be better. the chocolate brew was great, but not like the brownie pieces below. not the best dessert at universal, but not the worst. quite meh.
I could not get a reservation after 930 clock, so tried a walk at the opening. I sat in 20 minutes. then the waiting time started. the service was very slow. menu descriptions sounded amazing, but what was plagued was not quite consistent, what was disappointing. I wanted to love it, but I couldn't. eating was ok, but ok. for us it is one and done. do not want to pay high prices for ok eating and slow service.
We started a rough note. the host had either a bad day or didn't like his job. we checked in and wait. twenty minutes later (after our reservation) I heard that he told another family that they would get a text if their table was ready. Why did I look after getting a text?! ah. so I checked again. Previously, eating was excellent, the milkshakes were delicious. warning: the milkshake cups are plastic (which is good), but they are not dishwasher or hot water safe. my man melted us right away.
The *kids* loved it. The adults loved it only because the kids loved it Had a reservation for 6:45, and were finally seated about 7:20. Service was kind, but *very* slow. We didn’t leave until well after 9. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded, which I appreciate, so I assume the issue was staffing? The lobby/gift shop area had great theming, and we met the robot and his lady out front- super friendly, loved them. Oh, and the sweets were actually delicious, not just a gimmick! The kids enjoyed their meals (French toast, waffle, and cheeseburger), but the totchos, short ribs, and chicken dish the adults ordered were really just plain and lacked much flavor at all. None of it was finished despite us being hungry. Loved the chocolate Manhattan though!! The milkshakes were definitely impressive looking, but we’re thin and very lacking in flavor. Regardless, our server brought a small candle for our son’s birthday and we got a good photo. All in all, we had the time and kids (including birthday boy) like it so I’m glad we visited. If we return maybe we’ll share entrees and desserts and try to reduce the bill a bit (was $220 to make it feel more worthwhile.
