I absolutely love this restaurant! Vegans should definitely try the Mezze plate, which my family usually shares as an appetizer. Don't forget to order tzatziki on the side for her, of course. The mezze pita sandwich is also incredibly delicious. I'm a big fan of the falafel plate too. Just let them know you're vegan, and they'll explain any slight modifications, like substituting couscous for rice (which is cooked in... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Semra's Mediterranean Grill:
that is a very small casual restaurant that I think is overestimated. four of us had dinner there and were surprised at the setting and not a pleasant wise. although the baklava was pretty good. there was nothing special about eating and there was nothing bad about it. the prices are reasonable, especially given its situation. if it wasn't just steps away from the rehoboth boardwalk, I don't think it would survive. The pita and hummus were good, the falafel over boiled, dry and hard. it's too bad I didn't try the suppe. not many vegan choices!
I highly recommend visiting this place if you get the chance. It’s in a super great location and close to the beach. I asked for the pita platter with tahini instead of tzatziki sauce (as previous reviews recommended), and the woman working asked if I was vegan and told me the falafel platter is not vegan because there is butter in the rice. She told me some days they make vegan rice, so double check before ordering the pita platter. She recommended the falafel sandwich (on pita) or the falafel salad, and I went with the sandwich with tahini instead of tzatziki sauce. It was pretty good, not amazing but it was nice that their workers are knowledgeable and aware of vegans! The pita wrap was $10.99.
Love the Felafel platter and other vegetable entrees
They have great falafel and hummus. Substituted tahini sauce to make vegan. The wait staff is knowledgeable of the vegan diet.
We tried. Maybe because I'm Greek and I know how to taste a gyro. That was, I won't say disgusting, so let's just say I'll never eat again. Let me also add that we have all different pallets. What could taste bad to me could be delicious. But for my husband and me...
