Pros: excellent food (big fish, eel, fried chicken and cattle tongue) type and attentive server (correspond to our needs and specific requirements. Quick) good value servers here deserve good tip. Cons: no complaints. Great experience. can have long waiting times without reservation Recommend this restaurant. View all feedback.
What yung chin Chen doesn't like about Dan Izakaya:
I was giving 5 stars to this restaurant for a while. Price is slightly higher than other similar restaurants but they have more unique food and quality has been good. But a few recent visits started to disappoint me. The quantity is reduced significantly. In addition the quality is also going down. Take Korean BBQ style beef bento as example. The beef is much smaller than one year ago and there are a lot of tendons.... View all feedback.
This Japanese restaurant is fantastic. Each dish exceeded my expectations and the service was excellent. I definitely plan on returning.
The restaurant seems to have changed their sashimi supplier, as it is now of poor quality. It used to be fresh, but now it tastes like something you would find at a gas station. I do not recommend ordering the sashimi as it may cause gastrointestinal issues. However, the other dishes on the menu are decent.
Even without a reservation, we were able to sit at the opening as long as we were ready before the next reservation. Simple peas. We ordered: Grilled beef tongue had a good taste but lacked a bit of char flavor. (4/5) Niku tofu was really great with a generous amount of meat. It would have been even better with some rice or noodles, but the soup was not overly salty without them. (5/5) Yakionigiri had boiled salmon which I didn't particularly like, but the toast and taste of the outside were amazing! (4.5/5) Matcha karaage didn't have enough Matcha salt flavor. (3/5) Unagi Meshi had soft pieces of Unagi, spicy sauce, and crispy rice. I was too full to fully enjoy it, but if you like crispy rice, this dish is for you! (5/5) Just a heads up, tap water is not served here and bottled water is currently priced at a dollar. The service was efficient and parking was easy in the early evening.
Great little izakaya spot. Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious. Was able to get a table for 2 without reservation at 6 a.m. on weekends, but would probably get a reservation next time for a larger group.
I have mixed feeling about this restaurant. My husband and I came for lunch because of the high review of this restaurant. They used digital menu but the signal there was a bit hard to connect. You could ask for help if you have trouble with opening the menu. We ordered Sashimi salad and Seafood Raman. The food came fast and they looked great on their presentation. I loved how they have sashimi salad choice. For someone like me that didn?t want to have too much rice. It was a perfect choice. Seafood Raman came first and it was absolutely amazing. We loved the soup and seafood tasted very fresh. The presentation on Sashimi salad was very nice. Everything tasted great except the tuna we had that day. It just tasted really fishy and not fresh. We decided to tell the staff, so the next customer wouldn?t feel the same thing and here was our conversation. Me: The tuna doesn?t tasted fresh Staff: The tuna is fresh! Me: But it doesn?t taste like that Staff: A lot of customer said tuna tasted fishy because we changed our supplier recently. But if you are worried, don?t worry the tuna is fresh. ?? Well this threw me off a little bit because I loved sashimi and the quality of the tuna was way off. Maybe they were not using sashimi grade of fish or any reason. For $19.5, I was super disappointed with the food and the service. I am not sure if I would come back again, but their Seafood Raman was really good, so maybe I would give it another try sometime.
