"Santucci's new menu launch took place over the weekend and I was lucky enough to try out some of the new dishes. A perk when you dine in a big group is the crazy amount of dishes you will get to try. Beef Cheek Benny, Smashed Avo, Chilli Mushrooms, French Toast, Chia Pudding, Smoked Salmon Open Sandwich, and Corn and Sweet Potatoes Fritters were the dishes we got to indulged in. <br/ <br/ A sweet tooth like me will find it hard to go past the French Toast. Adorning a thick slice of soft and fluffy bread are vanilla ice cream, crushed homemade honeycomb, vanilla custard, assorted fruits and finally drizzled with Mork dark chocolate sauce. The zesty flavours of the fruits, the bittersweet chocolate and the candied undertones from the honeycomb come together to create an explosion of flavours.<br/ <br/ The Beef Cheek Benny was a crowd favourite, and it's no surprise why when the 12 hours beef cheek was so incredibly tender, moist and flavourful. The homemade BBQ sauce lent a smoky sweetness to the dish, and whoever had the genius idea to add sweet potatoes chips deserves a medal.<br/ <br/ The Smoked Salmon Open Sandwich was something that I would definitely order if I wanted something light and healthy. Fresh, bright and delicate flavours, with a hint of richness from the cheese. Simple yet delightful.<br/ <br/ Chilli Mushrooms is a dish that always go down well with anyone because who doesn't like mushies? An assortment of juicy mushies, chilli soy bean sauce, radish pesto and truffle oil, this dish is a surefire hit. A fusion of East meets West flavours that go together hand in hand. <br/ <br/ Coffee hit the spot too, as did the dragon fruit smoothie.<br/ <br/ The vintage decor of cafe made for a cosy and homely vibe, and the touch of greeneries dotted around added a calming touch to the atmosphere. A lovely cafe that warrants a return visit."

"This is the place one must try who loves Mexican and is a vegetarian. They do have lot of tasty vegetarian options and my personal favourite is Fonda Nachos, broadbeans and chickpea falafel and herbed mushroom quesadillas. Especially herbed mushroom quesadilla was very warm and juicy with boiled corns in it. One could easily finish it without wanting to share. Burrito was equally good. If someone doesn’t drink or haven’t tried it ever or trying something new for their first time then kafir lime chilli cocktail!"

"The ambiance was adequate, in contrast to surrounding restaurants it is refreshingly quiet, like an island of solitude in a raging sea, you can almost hear the sea breeze gently rolling by. The wait staff were attentive and quick to tend to the table, I suppose a man of my importance attracts this sort of attentive service, perhaps they have heard of me, perhaps they could tell I was indeed a substantial food critic, I didn't ask for this, but who am I to reject such a leading role in the critic community. The food was quickly brought to the table, never in a taco bill have I had my food arrive before I have finished the corn chips at the table! Certainly speedy service, the food was within the standard of a taco bill restaurant and further to this they finallu listened when I asked for guacamole on the side! This is rarely done for me and I dislike Guacamole... so it can quickly ruin that lettuce when it is piled on top. Whilst I was seated I saw the staff quickly accomodate a wheel chair customer without any fuss, to add to this no customer stood at the counter without being spoken to immediately, whatever previous reviews have caused this establishment its 3 star rating are either old or nit picking and biased. It is far above a 3 star rating in every aspect. My last note would be the decor, which is neat, cute and gives a sense of culture while remaining contemporary at the same time. The tequila bar has to be a favourite and gain it marks for that tequila shotgun alone! The hot sauces and condiments adorned upon the kitchen separating wall are a great sight and use of space, truly a nice place to be and see while one enjoys the Mexican cuisine."

"This place is our regular (once every couple of months) specialty Mexican place. They always do a very decent job, with tasty and flavorful Mexican food on offer. The quesadillas, nachos and enchiladas are all good. The dishes are a little pricey for what they...are (carb and flour based dishes with plenty of sauce veggies but with minimal meat/seafood throughout) but that said, it's a good place overall. Additionally, the desserts are actually really good here! Service can be a little hit and miss; sometimes they're very attentive and helpful, and other times you're trying to wave them down just to get noticed. But overall, a decent option especially out in the southeast suburbs."

"I rate Mad Mex 5 stars, as the food is always tasty and fresh. I find the service great too! <br/ <br/ I love that there are great vegan options. I usually order the Burrito Bowl or Salad. So satisfying. <br/ <br/ The Chadstone venue is in the food court, but there is a private seating area, which makes the experience more comfortable. <br/ <br/ Definitely recommend Mad Mex while shopping at Chadstone!"
