"'Winding your way down on Petaling Street. Lite in your head, and dead on your feet '<br/ <br/ The Dear Luncher and family have ordered takeaway from Petaling Street before, now it was time to perch inside for a feed. It was a sweltering Melbourne day and Petaling Street offered comfort and air conditioning. The Carnegie branch of Petaling is spacious and expansive. The menu is also expansive. Almost too expansive, too many choices. Upon being seated there seemed to be about five different laminated A3 documents to peruse. The walls were also peppered with pictures of dish options. This was annoying, I 'm here to eat not apply for a mortgage. But I digest, as I often do.<br/ <br/ Pan fried pork dumplings (12) were ordered, as well as a Char kway teow and Beef Rendang (with rice). This turned out to be quite a lot of food for just two people, but The Dear Luncher just rolled up his sleeves and got to work.<br/ <br/ The dumplings were of a high quality. The casings were still fluffy and soft despite being fried delicious little morsels. This is the difference between being lightly fried and drowned in oil fried. The Char kway teow was absolutely spot on. Mrs Luncher was lamenting the lack of prawns (only two) but Your Dear Luncher doesn 't care much for those creatures. This particular Char kway teow was a fabulous exponent of this well traveled dish, highly recommend.<br/ <br/ The Beef Rendang was aromatic and plentiful. Served on a bed of lettuce it looked terrific. It was not the softest and most 'pully aparty ' Rendang The Dear Luncher has consumed, but it was satisfactory.<br/ <br/ All in all a plesant experience. The Dear Luncher enjoys comfort and spacious surrounds and Petaling offers this up to their clientele. Beer prices very good as well. $6 for a Tsing Tao big tick."

"It's a lovely restaurant after all. We ordered the Rice Net Spring Rolls, Satay Chicken, Chu-Chee (fish curry) with rice, Beef Pad Thai and Black Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk for dessert. The Rice Net Spring Rolls and Satay Chicken are the must-eats. They were both very flavoursome. The staff recommended the Chu-Chee (fish curry) and it was very delicious. I'm not a fish person normally and this fish curry was a pleasant surprise. Pad Thai was very wet which was a bit unusual. It tasted like they went overboard with fish sauce. The Black Sticky Rice was the perfect dessert to end the night. The restaurant was decorated like a local eatery in Thailand with the rusty tables, chairs and beautiful pictures of Thailand."

"I can’t go past the BFC, beautiful crunchy fried chicken without the usual oily taste you often get with fried chicken, sriracha mayo is soooo delicious!!! Chips are always perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We try to limit ourselves to once a week for this treat but it’s hard to resist!"

"Located right across the Hughesdale train station, you don’t have any excuse of not being able to visit this souvlaki joint in Hughesdale. The owner/staff are friendly.<br/>There’s only 2 tables in this restaurant so must takeaway. I ordered My Platter Delight (Serves 2). It has Pork and chicken gyros, pork and chicken skewers, soutzoukaki, fresh tomato, onion, tzatziki dip, my souvlaki sauce, fries and grilled pita bread. The chicken skewers are so fresh and tender and juicy and flavoursome. Their secret sauce, the My Souvlaki sauce. This must be one of the best sauce I ever tasted in a souvlaki. <br/>The Chips Delight is quite interesting. I think it is quite tasty as well but if I really want to be critical about the chips, I only wish the bacon pieces were smaller pieces, thinner and crispier. <br/>The dessert I ordered is called Special Dessert Ask about It. I'll let you find out. Hate ruining the surprise but what I can tell you is it is so yummy!"

"Very rude service. I was the only person there and he just ignored me for 2 minutes before grunting at me to take my order. Didn't even bother to take his headphones out to do so. Wasn't given any indication of how long it would take so stood in the cold for 15 minutes. But to be fair my lamb kebab with the lot was very nice"
