"The food was fantastic, the portion was quite huge and the whole place is gorgeous.Although it indicated in the menu that there might be cross contamination, I asked for gluten free and vegan (to avoid lactose) and they were so careful! Even brought the gluten free bun on a separate plate in case I was vegan and did not feel comfortable with eggs touching my food.Honestly one of the best experiences I have had i a really long time eating out with a few food intolerances.Could never say enough good things about it, it is just absolutely FANTASTIC!"

"Arrived in Halifax and walked to Chives from our hotel. You walk up a few stairs and enter hip cool space with framed mirrors and banquets. Staff is warm, friendly and informative. Started with sublime seafood chowder, burrata and the tart followed by lobster risotto. Finished with the triple layer ganache cake . Each dish prepared beautifully with the freshest ingredients. Highly recommend."

"We made a reservation and it was honored immediately upon our arrival. From the time we entered until we departed everything was excellent. The service was impeccable and the food amazing! Our party started with the calamari appetizer and a fresh salad. Both were excellent and a good indication of the entrees to follow. We all had seafood of some sort. The mixed seafood that included half a lobster tail was amazing. The mussels were excellently prepared. We read some of the negative reviews but our experience was not like that. We'd highly recommend a visit here. It was expensive but worth it. Also, the wine list was very good."

"Great date place. Always interesting, adventurous, and tasty.I see the vegetarian label in the yelp header, but I seem to remember having roast beef, chicken, and fish here at various times over the years. Though I will confirm there are always interesting veggie options that can tempt me away from the meat dishes. Not many restos can do that."
