"This was my first time trying out Sushi on Fennell, I was impressed by the friendly service. The meal itself was fresh, delicious and well prepared. I will definitely be back.As for the establishment itself, it’s in a convenient location and appeared to be extremely clean.My only criticism, was they forgot the appetizer sampler. When I arrived to pick up my order, the gentlemen at the register asked for my information on the order and was able to select the correct party tray. There was slight disorganization there, which lead to the missing appetizer because there was not a slip of paper with that tray containing the information for the order. If there was, then I am sure he would have double checked.I don’t want that to take away from the overall great service and the friendliness from the employees."

"Democracy offers some of the best vegan food in the city. Especially her wings are the legend. That means the general feeling is from a restaurant whose owners are away on holiday and have left their teenagers in responsibility. Tipping is suggested at the time of service, although the only service is here to actually plop the food on your table. The expectation is that you will delete your own table and do your own sorting in recycling, garbage etc. Tables are wiped off sporadically. Food takes a long time to get to the table, often over 30 minutes. There's never an apology you're waiting for. My worst criticism is now, in the time of Covid19. When it first opened again, the restaurant changed to exceptional containers, as it served only with extra food. Now that the dining room is open, but the food is still served in plastic cutlery drawers. I ate there recently and my companion and I received an unpleasant, greasy cardboard box with wings in the middle of the table. We had to ask for separate sheets (ink paper). Clearing your own table is now to put most things in the garbage. There is absolutely no excuse for a restaurant with a dishwasher to use disposable plates and cutlery, unless it is a fast restaurant (and it is certainly not that). There is no evidence that plates and cutlery can make people sick from an industrial dishwasher and no other restaurant on the street uses disposable in their dining rooms. This is just laziness, and laziness is the landmark of this restaurant. Too bad the food is really good!"

"Enjoyed truly an extraordinary culinary experience at this restaurant recently. We were a large group so the chef offered us a tasting menu featuring highlights from the standard menu and some specialties for the day. Words cannot describe the brilliance to each menu item but all I can say is that you need to experience it for yourself… The bar menu and cocktails were diverse and unique and each one that I tasted was perfectly put together. This is THE restaurant in Hamilton and a must try by locals and visitors alike with a great take on vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian cuisine."

"You can do far worse in this area of Hamilton for a spot of lunch or brunch. We stopped in for a saturday morning early lunch, and were well pleased with the casual atmosphere, great space, comfy couch by the window. Smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, and actual vine ripened tomatoes was lovely. E had a classic BLT and it didnt disappoint either. great coffee, friendly staff. Worth giving them your business."

"I found this place to have pretty easy access for a downtown core. The quaint setting and friendly service were most welcome to me after a rough day of traveling. The hostess/waitress was sociable, polite and thorough as she explained her menu items to me...and catered to all my needs this is more impressive for a 1 woman show! I would definitely recommend this place, and I will certainly return again on my future trips though Hamilton."

"This is by far the BEST sushi restaurant in all Hamilton and area; the service and staff is excellent, never a let down or a bad experience. The food is very good; you can notice its very fresh and made with dedication. We love especially the ocean maki roll and the grilled mussels. They have a very wide menu with everything from udon and tepanyaki items such as black pepper steak, grilled shrimps and more, to sushi and rolls of all kinds, including even Thai food! Their tablet order system is very convenient and easy to use. This restaurant is perfectly comparable to other restaurants in the area who are much more expensive and don't even have the same level of service. More people should check this place out, they would be surprised! Very cool atmosphere too, an absolute ten to me."
