"It's an unassuming little sandwich shop near a busy corner (College and Spadina). You certainly don't go there for the ambience or the view of the streetcar stop, but what you do get are great lunch items with a wonderful variety of tastes and flavours....I especially like the Basil Marinated Fried Tomato sandwich, the Smoked Chicken sandwich and the Vietnamese-style Smoke Pork with Cilantro. Can't beat it!"

"Black camel is such a cute little spot. you order at the window (maybe just for covid) I ordered the veg sandwich with hummus and pesto mayo the veg is grilled but the bun is not, but it is high quality bread! would def recommend"

"I think I heard the waiter say Browne's has been dispensing four-star meals for the past 34 years to the Uptown crowd? Why do I call it Venerable? Perhaps the advanced age of most of the folks there for lunch. The middle of the road menu, the Cajun spices described as gently spiced. The prices which suggest their margins are healthy and they will make it past 34 years. Maybe even the two Catholic priests who seemed to be conspicuous regulars. It was a good feeling, the way I remember the middle 80s, when Bill Davis was Premier and the world seemed like a less aggressive place."

"There are not too many places in the city where you can enjoy a good and copious brunch sitting outdoors in the sun. This is one of them. I must admit that I rarely go there in the winter... but when temperatures rise and the sun shines, it is one of my preferred weekend restaurants."

"Came here for a girl's night out in the summer. Shared a pizza with a friend, while my other girls ordered the seafood pasta, another vegetarian pizza, and the ahi tuna salad. We absolutely loved the meal, especially the free breadsticks! We then ended the course with a sharing of desserts... my favourite was the wonderfully decadent chocolate cake. Yum!"
