"As of late, I’ve noticed that there’s been an influx of Japanese style baked goods and desserts (e.g. Uncle Tetsu’s), and I noticed that this small, unassuming little bakery boasting Cheesecakes has also opened up!. At the time, it was this location’s soft opening so their full menu wasn’t in swing yet, though the girl running the cashier was more than happy to let me know what their future products included."

"They pop up in the middle of our urban landscape, like a bright dandelion sprouting out of a sidewalk crack. That's food trucks.They're an exciting introduction to a variety of foods you haven't tried, often creative and indulgent bites and even more often, inexpensive. And they are an easy way to support local small businesses.Since there are more than a hundred food trucks in Vancouver, there's something for every taste.I love the nostalgia of grilled cheese. Just the sound of sizzling butter takes me back to eating it in my parents' old kitchen. Elbows bent, leaning into my crispy sandwich. I vaguely recall the marbled Formica counter, a fridge the shade of a cut avocado and a yellowing linoleum floor. Plain white bread, buttered on both sides, a slice of Canadian cheese. My mom stood at the stovetop. Armed with a spatula, greased frying pan. As the clock ticked, the bread slowly crisped and a browning fragrance filled the room. My teeth slowly sank into its tender gooey interior, mouth watering."

"Tiny little place with a few chairs. Cute, charming and cozy. I had the Philly cheese steak. Super delicious. Great size. It was freshly made, I was happy to wait for it. I will go back and try some of their other ones they have on the menu!"

"I dug her squash gnocchi and it was pampered when I took it out of the fridge the next morning. I noticed some black spots in the load, but assumed it were spiced or crimped in the gnocchi, but only later realized that they were spots of the mushroom."

"Not sure why this one is in restaurant section. It is a storefront in the Granville Island Market. Wonderful selection of cheeses. They have competition now on the island but the prices don't seem to have come down any."

"This is one of my favourite spots for getting the items needed to impress. Everything from fresh pasta to cheese to humus Duco's has it. Located next to Oyama Sausage Company on the south side of Granville Island Market."

"LOVE LOVE LOVE the gumbo and black eyed bean salad. The gumbo is so hearty and well seasoned it soothes right to the core. And I personally like to mix the black eyed bean salad as it is so delicious, light and refreshing (and especially nice when you mix it with the tomato salad). To boot, everything is made fresh and the staff is so pleasant! That's why this place is a regular go to."
