"We went to this restaurant with some expectations. This brasserie is located in the most expensive hotel of Basel. We were welcomed very nicely and brought to a nice table with view on the river. The gentleman who took our order was great as well. So far so good. Aperitif was served after we did order our food. Bit strange. But they let us finish our glass before the first course came. Our young waitress which was clearly French and had apparently no good other language skills, was slow. We are here in the German part of Switzerland. And most customers around us were international guests. Service was very slow. We only heard complaints at neighbour tables as well. We chose cheese as a desert. This was a huge portion, which we both did not finish. The meal quality was fine, but not really special (I know this is a brasserie). To pay 500 CHF for 3 courses , wine and coffee and get this service is a disaster. We never experienced this in any other restaurant in Switzerland. You always pay quite some money for diner here, but we always say that in all restaurants the service is outstanding. I am sorry to say, but this was our first and last visit to this brasserie."

"We went there to see the fountain and then took a look at the restaurant's garden and decided immediately that we would like to sit there. It was a hot day and in the garden there is a great natural shade, service is very good and... food is excellent. Currently there are many possibilities with asparagus, we had the Quinoa salad and Risotto all with asparagus."

"We heard about the Brasserie Grill Sans Souci in Basel and we wanted to try it ourselves. The restaurant is situated outside the city center, however features parking lots and is easily reachable by tram No. 6. The old building which used to be a hotel and ballroom is nicely refurbished on the outside and the inside. The Brasserie Grill is on the first floor, with a nice lounge and bar area on the right hand side, where we took an apéro. The restaurant is located in a glasshouse that seems to be newly attached to the old building. We had the Chateaubriand with side dishes, all very good. The service was attentive and efficient. There is a very nice wine list as well, from which we took a beautiful Barolo. All in all we were very happy and will return."
