"If you are looking for a pleasant lunch or dinner and don't want to stay downtown or in any of the more touristy locales, head to the east side of Munich, close to the station of Daglfing. The Marienburg is in a quiet residential...street with outdoor seating. As the restaurant is not overly large, reservations are a good idea. The menu is not just typically Bavarian, but offers interesting and healthy alternatives, i.e. a salad with grilled goat cheese and apple rings. Service is efficient and friendly. If you have a family reunion or host a larger group, you can reserve a private room off the main restaurant. I found the prices reasonable for Munich, and the fact that the place is off the beaten track is in its favour"

"A group of 26 old friends had dinner at the restaurant. They gave us a Nebenraum, which worked well, and they dedicated a very fast and competent waitress to serve the group. I had the Schweizer Schnitzel, a pork schnitzel with creamy mushrooms, crispy onions and cheese on top, stuck under the broiler to melt the cheese. It was very tasty, although the schnitzel was a bit tough. My salad was excellent, nice and fresh. And with Augustiner Bier, the meal was complete. Everyone else was very happy with their meals. There are mostly Bavarian dishes on the Karte, plus salads, vegetarian dishes, and a few other items as well, so it would be a picky diner who could not find something good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and was obviously popular with the locals. It is definitely a special tip. They have a large room in the back (The Saal) which looks like it would seat 200 – 220 people, so you could put on a fairly large event. They have a Biergarten out back which I will try when the weather is warm again. By its location in Berg am Laim, in the Maikäfersiedlung, you would not find any tourists there except by accident and actually you might be surprised to find such a nice place there if you were not from the neighborhood. There are only a couple of restaurants within a fairly large circle around the Einkehr. If you’re coming via public transportation, U5 stops Innsbrücker Ring and Michaelibad are, respectively, 440 and 580m away, and Bus 199, the stop called Bad- Schachener Straße, is 200m away."

"I used to visit the Kernhof at least twice a week back in the On a recent trip back to Munich with my wife we took a trip down memory lane and went to the Kernhof for a meal. We had what was our...favourite meal Liver Venezia with fried potatoes and a salad. It was excellent and very good value for money. The restaurant was quite busy with lots of Pizzas being consumed they looked just as good as I remember them. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will return next time we are in the area"

"One should always be cautious in tribals with almost daily visits due to comprehensible bias. I have been a reviewer in TripAdvisor for several years and as such I have always tried to make assessments objectively best of knowledge and conscience. Of course, the tastes are different, but service, kindness and the like are neutral criteria. And here this place scores in every relationship, even in full operation. As a frequent regular, I have not experienced a guest who would have complained about it. The boss, Mr. Francesco, and his service staff is courteous and fast. It also applies to special requests, if possible. The food is diverse. Please pay attention to separate table offers! Good value for money. Service in winter also in the heated, bright winter garden. In summer on bright terrace directly in front of tennis courts. Especially recommended are the pizzas of any kind large and small; also for taking away! Overall assessment: highly recommended!"
