"I've been wrong. I had never had such a bad Chinese food or any meal that smells bad and tastes worse. the whole meal is in the müll. a very bad experience and I hope only that I am not sick of the small amount I ate. I can't get rid of the smell of the house. this restaurant should be closed."

"Well where do I start with my review of the Cochin restaurant? Firstly having never dined there before we were not sure what to expect. We had only read reviews on TripAdvisor and Google which had been very complemently about the food and service so we wanted to give it a try. We had a table booked for 2 at 8.30, and we were met at the door and shown to our table by the window by a very pleasant waiter. He prompty brought over our menus, and we began to peruse through. The menu had a extensive selection of fish dishes which pleased me as I love fish, so I felt spoilt for choice as my expectations grew. The waiter was very attentive and informal and very knowledgeable about the dishes on their menu, and was happy to answer any questions we had. I finally settled on the fishermans soup for starter. Sadly this was a big let down! Very watery, no depth of flavour and next to no fish in an actual fish soup!!! My friend ordered the minty chilli prawns, the sauce which coated the prawns was tasty and zingy and the prawns cooked nicely however sadly the portion size and presentation was disappointing. Both starters seemed to arrive very quickly after ordering, which was a surprise. It seemed to me they had just been warmed through and thrown onto a plate. For my main course I ordered the mixed seafood curry which consisted of King fish,squid,prawns and mussels cooked in authentic Kerala special spice mixed sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly and the earthy Kerala special spice mixed sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. Sadly the squid was over cooked and rubbery which was the only negative aspect to the dish. My friend overed the kuttanadan duck roast which consisted of slices of duck cooked in thick roast gravy sauce. The sauce had a lovely velvety rich flavour to it however the duck itself was a big let down as sadly it was tough a chewy. All in all some postives but also some negatives. If this was a school report it would probably read, 'tries hard but can do better '!!!"

"Busy Italian restaurant when we went in on a Tuesday evening. Prices are fair for the quality of the food. Staff were very friendly and efficient. No kids cutlery or menu but they will happily split a main between two kids for you. Kids loved the gelato for desert. The Tartufo Classico (like a frozen icecream Ferrero Rocher) was lovely. Service not included. Would definitely recommend and return."

"Excellent food and service. It was a return visit as we have enjoyed it here before. We ate really early so extremely quiet. I would imagine that when busier the buzz would be good. Also, when paying, it was pointed out that I may have given the wrong tip (more than the cost of the meal). The honesty was much appreciated. We will visit again Many thanks"

"Lovely lake, interesting menu, lovely building and the kitchen is clearly skilled. But despite being friendly, the service is glacial. In a not very busy restaurant, it took a few minutes to be brought a menu, and then it was just vague. We were sat 50 minutes before we got fed.. even the emergency orange juice, ordered to stop a hypoglycaemic episode, simply didn't arrive until I nagged. Then.. I literally watched our waiter forget that we'd asked for vinegar..and look embarrassed when he remembered. It took 30 seconds to forget anything we asked. Wanted a desert, but frankly, it was such a fail. Menus brought again, then ignored. So, we forgot about desert, and I went to the till to pay, rather than sit and wait a bit more. Clearly aimed at ladies who lunch and want to spend three hours over it. It was my girl's birthday, told them at booking...got plopped on the only table behind a wall. Just sad and disappointing... won't be back. Not recommended unless you are a) not hungry and b) have lots and LOTS of time."

"Went on a Saturday night and at first the only customers. We were greeted as we entered the hotel by a friendly gentleman who took us to our table. Again a friendly lady took our drinks order. For starters we had the duck and pancakes. They were delicious. For the main course my husband had the red chicken curry and I had a chicken with chilli and cashew nuts, together with an auborgine side and rice. I asked the waitress which rice was Thai and she just smiled so took it that the one I was indicating to was it. My husband had ordered boiled rice. But they both tasted the same. My husband found the curry less flavoursome than he would have liked, and I loved mine. All was cooked perfect and was served beautifully. Later another couple and a single diner came in. The venue is lovely and clean beautifully decorated. We will definately be coming back again. It is certainly worth a visit!"
