"Just had a groupon afternoon tea, it was excellent value and great food. Sandwiches, warm sausage rolls, and small pies. Warm Scones, jam and clotted cream (in little pots) that works well as each has their own amount to use as they wish. Chocolate eclairs,...macarons, and carrot cake. Too much to eat but was given cakes wrapped up tea take home Plenty of tea and coffee, and was offered more. Good staff and service too. Nice comfortable surroundings. Would recommend."

"Visited or my daughters birthday. Arrived and were seated had to wait a bit for drinks which didn’t auger well. Waited another 10-15 minutes before order taken . A full hour before starters, apology prawn crackers just before they arrived. Squid like rubber bands wife and daughter happy. Main course another thirty minutes. People who had come in after us served food well before us. Main course beef and black bean also very chewy (chef on a roll) bill came and told we wouldn’t be charged for the complementary prawn crackers . Won’t be back Zen in Durham much better food and service."

"I ordered a takeaway from here yesterday evening whilst staying in Durham and it was absolutely horrible. I couldn’t eat any of it apart from the starter and rice. The nan was dry and the lamb curry was like tasteless walllpaper glue with a few shreds of meat. The chef and owner should be ashamed of themselves!!!"
