"Fantastic small spot on the banks of the river Wear tastes in the centre of the city of Durham. Essentially a man operation, everything is brewed locally in an old building, which also doubles as a retrofittable inside with various unique seating options. Beers are all vegan and the owner himself is extremely vegan conscious. Look for brilliantly named and creatively brewed beers. Filled gift sets are also available, especially popular in the festive season. Find this place absolutely busy on Durham Miner Gala Day on second Saturday in July with left lean comrades supping fabulous £3 a pint beer. Watch the signs while you walk up Silver Street from the river. If they are on the display, you know that the brewery is open for the business. Also check Facebook for the latest opening hours."

"Should not really be on Happy Cow, but you can always get a vegan sausage roll or pasty. The VG cheese, sausage and baked bean pastes are delicious. I have to say that the VG cheese and ham long sandwiches are also quite decent."

"First visit to zaps durham after good experiences in the Newcastle area. nicely furnished with the service area in the first floor. they get a window seat and they're in business. I had a burrito absolutely ram packed with circle, spicy beans, sweet potato chili, guacamole and hot chili sauce. a revolutionary good experience."

"Excellants burger and my court, 'posh beans' was a nice change from the regular lunch farm. the desserts we ordered (chocolate brownie) was excellent. they should not give the opportunity to have a brownie!"

"Seriously good vegan food. The soya pulled pork is incredible, the peanut butter and Oreo milkshake is out of this world and staff and delightful. Fairly priced too. I'm gonna be back so many times!"
