"Terrible from the start. We were a large party (11 in total) booked in ahead of time for Mothers Day Sunday lunch. There was a set menu with few choices which makes the terrible experience even more concerning. We arrived in time for 2pm booking. Whole pub and restaurant was quiet with not many tables full. By 4pm we had only had starters and no information being shared as to why food was not coming out. Other tables had walked out and they were happy to cancel what was ordered (again another worry). Others were also waiting same length for food. We asked for honest reason for delay and all we were told is that large parties were in. By this point only 3 seated tables left. When food arrived nearly 3 hours later it was cold and had a skin on which looked like food had been left standing. We think they were ordering food in from somewhere. Taste wise wasn't terrible but certainly not cooked on site. Will certainly not be going again and would advice others to not bother. Plenty of other decent places in Durham to go to instead."

"Amaani at the Pumphouse has been on our list or local restaurants to visit for a while. We were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and welcoming and service is prompt and attentive, but not overbearing. We enjoyed a lovely meal I recommend the...fish momo as starter! The naan breads were delicious and the curries tasty and pleasantly spiced. The duck (Hannah) jalfezi is fantastic and my wife loved her Goan chicken curry. We'll definitely be back. Do make a reservation in advance as tables are in demand!"
