"We stayed in the Hotel Costa da Caparica for a week and visited this hotel on the last night. I was sorry we had not visited it earlier in the week as we would have repeated the experience. We went up to the hotel on...the 8th floor and were greeted by Valter the Maitre d who really looked after us very well. We began with a drink on the balcony which is a very narrow passage outside the restaurant) and then ordered our meal. We had a lovely window table in order to see the sunset. There is a complete meal available for €23 per person and this is three courses from the a la carte menu and a drink wine, beer or soft drink). We ordered starters which were huge! I had a crab terrine with toast and my partner had a smoked salmon with mango chutney. They were both delicious, I then chose the duck dish, which had duck breast which was well cooked and flavoured and the other main course chosen was Portugese steak which was really delicious. The only fault I had with the steak dish was that the poached egg looked awful...the white was not white and very messy looking...but no fault to the taste. We had a half bottle of red wine and the desserts were the local pudim flan creme caramel) and a chocolate pudding with strawberry centre. The service was efficient and pleasant and we particularly enjoyed Valter. We spoke to him of the changes in the area he has worked in the Costa area for many years and he was very helpful with local information. It was a very pleasant evening."
