"Cool… Large restaurant, cool atmosphere, noisy room, professional “serious faced” service. Also large parking space. Place to go for large groups or when on business… not a bit romantic! Actually the food was quite good. The portions were ample and a large salad bowl was served with the meal. I had grilled quails. Normally you get two of them but to my surprise I got three. My wife took rabbit, luckily only half a dose otherwise she wouldn´t have been able to handle. Also well cooked. We took the house red wine which was very cheap (2.40 € for a bottle), drinkable but nothing more. Anyhow for this price couldn´t expect much more."

"Solar do Sal is situated in the SALINAS area of Rio Maior. Just opposite the salt pans. A great restaurant to visit after you have looked around this historic site. Grilled chicken is the favourite on the menu. Portions are huge and plentiful. Very reasonably priced. Very busy during the summer months."

"The wine was fine since they didn't produce it there. We had codfish which was the worst cut we could have, full of bones and it wasn't well done. The meat, miminhos de vitela, a cut of beef was tough and full of nerves. The desert nothing to remember not even the fruit which I thought it was impossible to miss."
