"Having visited this part of Portugal for the last three years we have experienced nunos hospitality before but this particular day/ evening he and lots of the locals pulled out all the stops, with a free BBQ in the afternoon followed by the televised game early evening with a dj in the car park !!! We partied with some very friendly and welcoming locals until the small hours !!! Not the sort of place for a romantic evening out but for local hospitality and most football matches screened it's a great evening out, thanks nuno for a great evening."

"On the outside this cafe/bar/restaurant is undistinguished and long may it remain so! It 's a little gem on the outskirts on São Bras and run by a delightful husband and wife. There is an outside seated area and additional tables in a modern interior. At...the tables there is a selection of magazines and even a small 'biblioteca '. The ambience is what makes this place it is relaxed and unpressured. The staff are friendly and speak good english. There are a range of offerings but I would recommend the tosta mista and the ice cream some of which is made on the premises. In the evenings it is relaxed with a mixture of local portuguese and expats and it seems to stay open until the last one leaves. I really don 't want this place to become too popular as I always want to get a table either on my own or with friends. Frankly, I don 't know another place quite like it. But don 't go there please!"

"About 3km out from the center of Sao Bras De Alportel is this great little bar which serves good honest traditional Portuguese lunch and dinner, although Paula will if asked do a simple egg or ham sandwich at lunch time. The prices are so low and normally there are a sprinkling of local brits who use the bar to watch football and play pool, but the many locals who use the bar atest to its authenticity."
