"This is at the Matosinhos Municipal Market (essentially a permanent farmer's market), a near suburb located North of Porto; being a port town has fresh fish all year round. We wanted to explore this town more and catch lunch, that's when Eduardo approached us with a big smile noting our undeniable tourist look. He explained that the bottom section of the market is where fish is sold, the 2nd floor you can find live animals, produce and meat, and around the perimeter, restaurants and other shops. Eduardo runs Taberna Lusitana and said that we can buy our fresh fish, any kind, and they will charge a nominal fee per person to cook it and serve it; if you don't eat fish (like in my case), he also had other items on the menu. We decided to take advantage of it. My wife picked a super fresh Sea Bass and Eduardo recommended a John Dory fish. While we waited we were treated with mini-squid fried, and bread with a fresh crab tartare (remember I said I don't eat sea food?... well these were really tasty) Then it came the cooked fish, complete with sides of baked potato, rice and house salad, I opted for an Entrecôte with potato and smashed asparagus. The consensus was unanimous, the fish was delicious, the sides more than appropriate. Later Eduardo joined us for a chat. He's 25 years old, opened the place with a business partner not long ago. He worked as a waitress the 8 previous years on the restaurant next to his, learned the business and got ideas of his own along with the spirit of being a business owner. Many places are owned by older people, things are slow to change, proven formulas, why bother?; some of that happened on his previous place. When Eduardo opened his place, he had the idea of leveraging the market, opted for letting people buy the fish for him to cook it, to open at night and cook fresh fish, to offer other dishes catering to different tastes, to become also a local spot for regulars. This approach has been disrupting the business, even infuriated the neighbors, Eduardo created a healthy competition that made his fellow restaurants to start changing as well. His old boss doesn't speak to him anymore. Eduardo is a charismatic guy, with a big smile, and switched to serious when directing his employees and addressing vendors on a blink of an eye. The food he offers s delicious, the special treatment to every single of his customers is something that many places, especially in America, should learn from. He is 25 years old!, he has a drive and he is in command. This kid is already successful and will be even more, honestly, we had such an amazing experience that we're rooting for him."

"I am used to eating at vegetarian restaurants, I did not find this restaurant to be that good. The place is very pretty with the inner garden and decoration, but the food was not that great when compared to other vegetarian restaurants that offer a much greater choice and tastier dishes. The staff was not very friendly either. I enjoyed the place but I come to restaurants to enjoy good food as well, so not worth the higher price as well."

"So I’m not a massive fan of pizza, but my wife and kids are and as this place had come recommended but a Portuguese friend we went. We order the antipasto with 3 pizzas to share between 4 of us, the sharing pizzas a were huge so 2 would have been more than enough. We ordered Margherita, the vegetarian and the Turkey and they were delivered in that order (delivered based on the strength of the taste). I thought the basic Margherita was just that, very basic but they definitely got better with each round but we were stuffed by the time the tastiest pizza came. The pizza base is amazing but as I said, to me it’s just a pizza and at €38 for one of the pizzas it’s a very expensive place for sauce on dough. Nice experience but not something I’d run back to"
