"This restaurant is more bar, than restaurant. In the summer the outdoor seating can't be beat for partying and people watching. However, beware of the food. At the price, it is not worth the quality. And being such a busy tourist spot, the service and quality is lacking. Great place to party, but be sure to eat beforehand."

"Start with a beautiful interior filled with 'old school ' charm and populate it with friendly attentive staff in crisp white shirts. Add to that some delicious food and you 're ready for a relaxing dining experience. The smoked salmon was excellent as was the bangers and mash. Recommended."

"We had been walking all day and were tired and hungry, so we showed up about 30 minutes before our reservation. We were greeted warmly and felt like it was no trouble at all. Sometimes, your first impressions are good indicators of what your whole experience will be, and this time it was spot on. The service was both professional and personable. We never felt rushed which is what you hope for on a vacation. Oh and lest I forget, the food was incredible! My wife, daughter and I like to share our meals, so I sampled 3 appetizers and 3 entrees -- fabulous. My daughter ordered a dessert for herself while my wife and I split a second -- equally good. It was our last dining experience of our experience, and I am so happy for it being so."

"While attending the Canadian GP in Montreal had the opportunity to eat here since it was very close to our hotel. Enjoyed it so much we went back with friends two nights later. Selections superb and portions sizes perfect. The meals were outstanding for everyone."

"Ughhh. What a fall from grace. A few years ago i joined some friends at a new bbq place on St. Denis called Diablos. The ribs were delicious, the fried chicken had a unique flavour. All the sides, from the fresh cornbread to the creamy and tangy coleslaw were delicious. My first visit was so impressive that i went back twice, bringing friends who enjoyed the food as much as i did. Then something changed. I dont know if it was sold but the place moved to the Main into a much smaller location. I was there a few weeks ago for a birthday party in the middle of summer. It was a hot day and there was no ac in the place. The space could barely accomodate our party of 35 or so and was open for business to others regardless. The staff were totally out o their element and what ensued was a total breakdown of service the likes of which I had never seen.The girls working the floor were friendly enough but they couldnt seem to get an order right and there was clearly no management present. It took about an hour to get them to ake our orders and then another hour for appetizers to arrive. When they did star to roll out th food it was piecemeal, some finishing their pates while others waited for theirs. What arrived was dried out, burnt or flavourless. The mac and cheese tasted like salted kraft dinner and the burnt ends where just that, burnt. The three members of our table who ordered them reported violent intestinal episodes later that night.Our evening began at 7:00. The main dishes did not start coming out before 10:00, and one couple at our table only got their plates at 10:30. These entrees were even more dissapointing than the apps. My pork ribs were charred and burnt almost to the point of being inedible. The night was hot, but the company was great so we were able to tough it out. But the service was so inept and slow that we were all agitated to the point of wanting to leave. If the food had been half decent it would have mitigated all this but the only thing more unpallatable than the slack-jawed unattentive waitresses was the slop the kitchen tried to pass off as food.It's been a long time since ive had so dissapointing a dining experience; from the food, to the atmosphere ( it mustve been about 45 degrees celsius in there) to the ineptitude of the service, this has got to be one of the worst restaurants in Montreal.So sad."

"Disappointing experience as Earls has always been one of our favourite go to spots but it just seems to be going downhill. Dynamite Rolls are not even close to as good as they used to be and were served falling apart and hardly any filling. Then ordered the garlic fries (which is hard to get wrong) and they were super greasy, only got the bits and pieces and had no flavour. Server felt really bad and we were ready to eat our main meal elsewhere but decided to stay and give them one more chance. I ordered a house salad and the bread with oil and vinegar thinking they couldn't possibly mess that up and the bread was totally stale and dried out! Will miss this place but can't see myself going back...."

"We visited for New Year's so obviously did not have a chance to experience the outdoor seating - will definitely come back to do so when in town again. We were dining with a 2 year old child, the place is very kid friendly. The waiter brought some papers with puzzles for my godson to color, together with crayons. I loved that in true Italian fashion our kid was considered a guest as well, not a little somebody annoying the staff. Great wine list, good food. Fantastic location. We had pizza and pasta - Bevo does both very well. Perfect ingredients, although maybe our choices were basic, it is still an art to make basic dishes well. Wine list was very impressive and priced reasonably. Well done Bevo, we will be back."
