"I spoke to the owner briefly before we sat down, my third time here. I’ve travelled many places across the globe, eaten everywhere and this restaurant is in the top 3 I’ve ever eaten at. Maybe even number 1. I’ve eaten in Italy many times and this it’s not as good as here. One of the best meals you’ll ever have. Food, price, ambiance, pretty much everything. If we move back to England, this is the last place I will eat at before I leave. It’s that good. Please go."

"Staff were so lovely, beverage menu was great, and the vibe was awesome. The food just didn’t do it for me and left me feeling disappointed to be honest but maybe it’s just because of my ordering my main was the pork chop (apparently their popular dish) and then chocolate tart for dessert. Both were conceptually great but just didn’t hit the mark for me.I found the pork chop way too big, dry, and not enough of the corn, sauce, and greens. Great smokiness though!The chocolate tart was also too dry but the peanut butter elements were great.For the amount I paid, I think there are better places around but great for drinks and maybe some other dishes may have been better!"

"The feast of the seven fishes. Starter was the usual bread with olive spread. Followed by a tasting selection of two types of fried calamari, muscles with a light, green onion and caper salsa, red clam chowder and a small dallop of the best mashed potatoes ever with a homemade potato chip on top. Third course was the most delicious oven baked garlic risotto with succulent shrimp and a tuna and pasta in red sauce. For the mains, a butter poached half lobster tail served over garlic polenta, and wonderfully seared swordfish over a bed of spinach. Absolutely to die for. Finally we moved on to dessert which consisted of differing types of pastries. A glazed gingerbread cookie, house made fig bar, dark chocolate peppermint cookie, lemon zest cookies with sprinkles, chocolate chip cookies, and, my personal favorite, chocolate dipped candied orange slices. This meal is an experience and is well worth the price. I have grown expect nothing less than the best from Lidia's KC. 12/24/2023 Feast of the 7 fishes This experience differed slightly from years past. The food was still excellent as usual with Lidia's. Service was slow but attentive, would have preferred that seating were private tables. All in all I would still go back for this event again."

"One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!"
