"Very loud and very understaffed. Lone bartender trying to wait tables at 6:30 on a Friday night. Harmonica noise drowning out guitar and singing accompaniment- could not hear my date talk at a 2-top . Food was good. Never got water though we asked twice. Did get the smallest glass of wine I’ve ever had in a restaurant… 4 oz? $10.50. Bottle may have been emptied. But if you don’t mind super loud music and waiting, the food was tasty. Also convenient location."

"Restauranteurs Craig Blondis and Roger Sapp teammed up with chef Ryan Trimm to turn Sunrise Memphis into one of the best breakfast destinations you could hope to find. And they did the same with 117 Prime when they recreated the traditional American steakhouse. Located at 117 Union Avenue, in downtown Memphis, a block from the Peabody Hotel, it is open from 4 to 10 Tuesday through Saturday and offers a classic dining room with a stylish bar. Love the menu. My wife and started with shrimp cocktail, French onion soup and Caesar salad with Romaine, Caesar dressing, anchovies and grilled croutons. For an entree, my wife chose a deviled crab stuffed flounder with spinach, shiitake batter and crisp sweet potatoes. Of all the seafood we eat on a regular basis, flounder is one of the most delicious. I couldn't pass up a premium steak at a steakhouse. I opted for a 10-ounce filet of Angus beef with bearnaise sauce, potatoes au gratin and grilled asparagus. The dessert menu is first-class, too. After a lengthy deliberation, we decided to share a chocolate tart with caramel sauce and an apple and peach cobbler with French vanilla ice cream. 117 Prime checks all the boxes...atmosphere, food, service."

"This place is a joke! The menu online does not match the real menu in any way. I have never been more disappointed in a dinner reservation through OpenTable than this place. Please warn others that dinner will be a big disappointment shame on this establishment....."

"I came to Memphis not expecting anything *great*, yet my experience with this restaurant has established a new benchmark, which I think Thai shops nationwide should try to emulate. In town for a conference, I stayed at the Marriot Downtown and was looking for something within walking distance. Sawaddii is less than a mile from the hotel, and a nice walk in the humid, yet not too hot weather (it had rained earlier but skies were clear as I set off). Near the corner of Union and Main streets I found the restaurant and needed no reservations right at 7:00 P.M. Seated immediately, the wait staff was very attentive and soon I had bottle of Singha and a glass, and the results of the evening 's specials. I 'm a sucker for curry, and soon decided on the special a mess of seafood with my choice of curry. The choices were a spicy green curry, a mild brown curry, or my choice, the spicy Panang curry. Within a short amount of time my meal was served and accompanied by a very nice glass of red the Proyecto 4 from Spain, which had a delightfully long finish. The meal was an appealing mixture of shrimp, squid, scallops, and clams topped generously with Panang curry. This curry, which is denoted on the menu as ;Hot ;, was not too spicy and the measured warmth fit the atmosphere and season. Time for another glass of that nice Spanish wine, then a fairly impressive finish of dessert of ginger ice cream doled out in tiny balls in a martini glass and garnished delicately with caramel and grated fresh ginger delightful! About the ratings...food quality was really excellent and the place was very clean, although I didn 't visit the restrooms and consequently have nothing to say about them...the value is good, though the wine prices could be a little lower the atmosphere could have been improved by more windows but even that was considered by the proprietors the windows overlooking the brick wall display a open perspective thanks to strategic lighting. The music was non traditional (from a Thai perspective), yet unobtrusive. I would definitely eat here again and I will. The menu is diverse and offers good variety for vegetarians. The wine list is decent. The location is very good. Give this place a try absolutely."
